Mazwil Retreat
Mazwil Retreat a self-catering getaway place to relax, revitalize and invigorate yourself and your family. Situated 180 km from Cape Town, on R60 (between Ashton and Swellendam), Mazwil Retreat is a 450 ha farm with abundant protea, renosterveld, birdlife and animal life typical of the untouched veld of this area. The retreat is surrounded by dairy, fruit, pork, and wine farms. The fully equipped house offers two double rooms (one en-suite) and a bunkroom sleeping four. Enjoy yourselves in the pool at the house or relax in the lapa at the dam. Walking/ hiking. Bird watching, Bass fishing. Wine and cheese tasting close by.

21 September 2018"What a lovely weekend we had, with lovely walks and rests by the dam. We had good braais, a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. We would have liked to stay longer on the Sunday though."

30 April 2018"No neighbours so completely private. The vista was amazing. Kids could explore unattended as it was completely safe. The lapa is great place to picnic. Loved the serenity! House could do with a deep clean."

The house was HUGE, the view was magnificent, the beds were comfortable and the guests (the four of us) were happy :) It is in the wild though so if you're scared of bugs and/ or spiders, be warned. Having said that though, the house was very clean. We just needed to shake out the bath towels before using them ;)<div><br /></div><div><br /></div>"

08 June 2015"Myself and seven other girlfriends stayed at Mazwil Retreat over this last weekend for the Wacky Wine. And oh my word we were blown away. The accommodation is so so beautiful, from the gigantic fire place in the lounge for the cold nights to the gorgeous views. The house also features everything you need and more, all you need to bring along is some clothes and food! A huge thank you to Ruth the manager she was friendly and accommodating. We WILL definitely be back!"

03 January 2012"We stayed on the farm for six days over new years and enjoyed everything about it. Four couples fit in comfortably and there is so much to do. We caught quite a bit of fish in the dam (on fly's, lures and worms), went golfing in the surrounding towns, relaxed at the pool for hours and even enjoyed a mountain bike ride on the challenging single track of a neighbouring farm which Ruth had arranged for us on request. Ruth was an excellent hostess and she assisted us with various random queries and requests and made our stay even more enjoyable. We've already ordered another stay."
