"Thanx Coco and family for a weekend getaway stay filled with love, laughter and awesome memories. Your humility and customer service was top class .The cherry on top was the horse riding experience, it was my first time and was breath-taking."

  • "Great rooms, extremely helpful staff"

    18 September 2017

"Rooms are amongst the nicest I have ever had in a backpackers, even up to hotel standard. Environment is rustic, and Malcolm and Ursula went out of their way to help us around. Would definitely recommend."

  • "Disappointing!"

    02 June 2017

"Place does not look like the pictures at all! The bathrooms were freshly renovated but the rooms itself are still under construction. No wall plaster, no floors, no proper sealing (yet), the bedside table lamps dont even have shades. Curtains broken. Dead moths and spiders on the walls.Cupboard in our room was full with stuff. The matrasses are old and all you feel is the frame of the bed, bedlinen have holes and everything just feels damp. The kitchen is well equipped but was dirty (e.g. spiderwebs in scoop). We left earlier as planned and sent feedback to the owner with request to refund our money. No response. Feels like he just wanted to make some easy money no matter what. Would have been a different story if we had been aware of the refurbishment and would have been charged less. Very disappointing! The only good thing about this place is the manager Malcolm and the cats and dogs."

  • "Friendly and Relaxed"

    03 January 2017

"My girlfriend and i had a two night stay here and it was a very nice experience, Malcom who runs the place is an interesting dude to chat to and has a nice way of making you feel comfortable on the middle of nowhere. The rooms available are just what you need after a long hot day of driving or visiting the falls. Perfect little patch of green in the middle of nowhere."

"Thanks to Malcolm for greeting us on our arrival and making us welcome. We were able to cook a great Braai outdoors. The gardens are nice and peaceful."

  • "Great stopover"

    10 September 2015

"We were warmly greeted by Malcolm who had also helped us find a good place to pick up some food for our braai before we arrived. The facilities were clean and neat, with access to the communal kitchen facilities. The bathroom had a nice shower. The peace and quiet was something special, and the pool table was great for us to unwind from our long ride. I will definitely recommend the Augrabies Backpackers to anyone wanting to stay in the area."

  • "Comfortable and spacious"

    26 May 2015

"We arrived quite late, but it was not a problem for the hosts. Inside and outside showers and toilets was more than enough for the 9 of us.<div>We had the whole house just for our group. Pool table was a lot of fun, and music played in the background. We left early the next morning.</div><div>Beds were comfortable, you get what you pay for.</div><div>Mosquitoes was a problem, if we arrived earlier we would have closed the windows. Don't think is it normally a hassle. </div><div>Host was friendly and met us and saw us off.</div>"

  • "Good"

    26 April 2015

"Everything we needed for a night on our way to Namibia. The beautifully situated backpackers is owned by two very down to earth guys, who are up for a nice chat around the fireplace. Nice and simple and pretty clean rooms, well equipped kitchen. The Aurabies Falla are only a short drive away. Thanks for having us!"

  • "Disappointing"

    23 February 2015

"Disappointing as we stayed there 12 years ago and had good memories. Since then it seems the toilets and showers hadn't been cleaned at all. The whole place needs a bit tidying up and fixing. The location is great, a short drive to the falls. Ok for one night on a low budget."

  • "Ok for a stop"

    21 January 2015

  • "Solid budget accommodation"

  • "Another good stay at Augrabies Backpackers"

    26 September 2014

"This is the second time that we have stayed at the backpackers and think it's a really cool place to stay. Very chilled and relaxed environment. We stayed there because of the hot air ballooning taking off from there and that was a really awesome experience too."

  • "Cheap and Cheerful"

    12 August 2014

"Augrabies Backpackers was exactly what I expected for what I paid. After 7 days of arriving in dirty motorcyle gear to rooms with fresh Percale sheets on the bed, it was a relief not to worry about making something a bit dirty. Malcolm was very friendly and very welcoming. I manged to cook a meal for 3 using pots and implements available, AND you always meet interesting people at a backpackers which was nice after a day of solo travel. Will definitely return."

  • "Relaxed environment"

    05 May 2014

"I enjoyed my stay at the Augrabies backpackers, the staff was friendly and not too invasive. Relaxed environment with all basic needs catered for. Close to the falls."

  • "In the Bundu"

    12 February 2014

"Augrabies Backpackers is comfortable and clean ( well the fridge could do with some care). It is welcoming and laid back. But you are in the Bundu, so don't expect high tech, but if you are seeking budget accommodation close to the National Park this will amply, and relaxingly, suit your needs."

  • "Augrabies Backpackers"

    05 February 2014

"We stayed here for one night and were the only people staying here, so I'm sure it'd be a bit more lively when others are around. It was a basic backpackers located not too far from the National Park entrance. The host was friendly and accommodating and it was a great place to crash while heading up north."

  • "Good experience"

    31 August 2013

"My 1st time at a backpackers - good experience. Friendly staff, everything one needs, clean. Definitely NOT for the hoity-toity."

  • "Very relaxing"
