Ocean View House is a 4-star, family-run guest house located on the Bakoven side of Camps Bay opposite Bakoven's beautiful rocky beaches, ideal for travelers looking for peace and quiet. The guest house has large 4000sqm park-like gardens with 30 rooms spread across 4 houses with the most breath-taking views of the Atlantic Ocean spread out before you and the 12 Apostle Mountains standing watch behind you. We are 1km from the Camps Bay restaurant strip, Theatre on the Bay and Camps Bay Beach, and is conveniently located 3km from Table Mountain and Lion's Head, 8km from the V&A Waterfront, and at the start of the scenic Cape Peninsula route to the Cape of Good Hope. 17 March 2010"Superb stay for 6 days at this small hotel. Lovely spot very friendly/ helpful staff. Superb breakfasts.Stunning views and really handy for Camps Bay and all it's nightlife. Right below the 12 Apostles and you can actually see the gondolas going up to Table Mountain. The room which my husband and I had was obviously next in line for refurbishment as looked a bit tired , beautiful setting and layout,whereas my daughters room had been totally refurbished and the decor was lovely. Having said that was a great stay and would recommend to all"

I'm not one for overly friendly or intrusive hosts but the atmosphere here felt a little too impersonal. Still, with such a great location, I would stay here again and again."

08 April 2007"My boyfriend and I have just returned from a wonderful visit to Cape Town, which included a stay at the Ocean View House. <br/><br/>Overall, the property fully met and exceeded my expectations. The room we booked was clean, spacious and comfortable and had the added benefit of offering amazing views of the mountains and Atlantic Ocean. It was a real value for money. The Ocean View House staff was most accommodating and friendly, and was always willing to help arrange taxis, restaurant reservations or whatever else we might need. <br/><br/>The property is situated between Camps Bay and Bakoven, and while we definitely appreciated the peace and quiet of the location, it is about a 15 minute walk (or a 5 minute taxi ride) to the center of Camps Bay. The walk is an easy and enjoyable one though, and should not deter you from booking."
