  • "December break"

    24 December 2015

"We stayed at Al marrakesh for 4 nights. The staff were great and friendly. We used it as a bed rather than a resort, as we were out all day every day. If that is your thing then&nbsp; this resort is ok. The pool was half full, no shower, access was steep and narrow, the parking a nightmare, so not recommended for family stay when you want to use ammenities.<br />"

  • "Overpriced, but functional"

    03 January 2013

"The place is nice, but I didn't think it was worth the price I paid for it. The service is a bit slow, and they didn't know too much about what was available in town. The room we had stayed in was self-catering - the kitchen area gets really hot as it's in direct sunlight, and there is very little ventilation. The room's aircon was great though, as was the decor and linen. They seemed to have an issue with the electricity tripping all the time, which can be frustrating, especially when there is no-one around to switch it back on, and the parking area is a disaster - not enough room for all the cars and very awkward. We also didn't have a braai area, or an outside sitting space."

  • "Dissapointing stay"

    02 November 2011

"Having seen the pictures on the Al Marrekesh site I was expecting more than I did. The sign boards are very obscure so it was very hard to find at night, we had to stop at one of the neighbours to find out where they were. We tried to call on numerous occassions that night but neither the landline nor the cell number was answered. We were greeted on arrival, taken to our room and that was it till we left, no tour of the place no explanation of where anything such as braai area etc was. No one came to see if there were any problems etc and we still haven't seen the lovely braai and pool area advertised. On our first night there we had a bath which was never cleaned. On coming back from town on Saturday we had to go and ask for milk for our coffee which is unacceptable. I will definately not be recommending this establishment to anyone. We travel often around the world and South Africa and have stayed in various establishments but this was by far the worst for the area it is situated in."
