  "We are Australian and stayed at Toro Yaka during the 2010 World Cup and had the most incredible time!Nicole and Steve are fantastic hosts.The accommodation was beautiful (including outdoor showers), the food was amazing and Steve is extremely knowledgeable about the bush and the wildlife.The game drives were the highlight as Steve and Vusi tracked down elephants, hippos, giraffes and lions for us to see.I would recommend Toro Yaka to anyone and would definitely return.It is the best value for money!"

The accommodation was beautiful (including outdoor showers), the food was amazing and Steve is extremely knowledgeable about the bush and the wildlife. The game drives were the highlight as Steve and Vusi tracked down elephants, hippos, giraffes and lions for us to see. I would recommend Toro Yaka to anyone and would definitely return. It is the best value for money!"

  "We managed to secure a last minute booking at Toro Yaka and didn't really know what to expect.What we found is a lodge where you become friends with the hosts but you never feel that your privacy is being invaded.The lodge is very intimate and the attention to detail is great.Food and lodging is five star, and the game drives / walks are brilliant as they are flexible and are conducted by the owner, who is deeply passionate about conservation.I can't wait to go back soon.Thanks so much to all, with much love."

  "I live in the UK and visited Toro Yaka with my family in April 2008. We were very impressed with the facilities, we received five star treatment at a reasonable price. We were also accompanied by my two year old nephew. Even though we were told that the establishment welcomed young children and the staff treated him in an excellent way, we would not recommend taking little children to the lodge as they can really disturb the peaceful nature of the surroundings and it is difficult to keep them out of trouble. I would definitely return to Toro Yaka for a visit, this time taking my husband for a romantic break.The rooms were superb and very clean and the food was very good."

  "From the warm welcome in the carpark to the refreshing drink inside the lodge our stay could not have been better.The accommodation was very comfortable and we loved the outside shower.The lodge has a brilliant location in the bush and you can watch the wildlife visiting the waterhole from the swimming pool class.We went on three bush drives and a walking Safari and could not be more impressed,Steve was a brilliant guide with an intimate knowledge of the bush.We will definitely return with more friends in the future,Steve and Nicole made our stay exciting and very relaxing we would recommend the lodge to anyone who wants to experience the real Africa."

  "Even in "wintertime" ( May) a perfect place to stay ! Very friendly +attentive hosts including a tame Mongoosebaby to play with . Wonderful spacious rooms, well designedand fitted with both inside- and outdoor-shower...everything. more than perfect. We especially enjoyed the game drive through Balule -quite a lot of animals, even a leopard after sunset.Steve is a well experienced Game Ranger and we can recommend the early morning bushwalk near the river - thrilling ! Very good value for money - hope, the rates will stay as they are- a private lodge and private reserve you won`t find a lot in this price range !"

The rooms are beautiful furnished and equipped with a nice bathroom and a outside shower from where to watch the bush.Steve and Nicole offer the best service you can get and even more.Enjoy the silence of the bush while sitting in front of a water hole and watching the game comes around all day long before going on a game drive with Steve a well educated guide and bird specialist. The food is just unbeatable. Have a nice dinner beside the open fire and enjoy the bush nights. Big compliments to the staff who did a really good job!!!For us it was an experience we will never forget and we will definitely be back."

  "My family loves the outdoors, and this experience was truly magnificent. Steve and Nicole are truly the best hosts I've met in a while. Their staff sort of blend in with the whole experience. I really loved being pampered and so did my husband. It was the first game drive my kids were on, and they cannot stop talking about it. I really would like to thank Nicole as well for the excellent meals, being muslim we eat halaal food, and she really went out of her way to get us halaal food. Steve and Nicole compliment each other well. I wish them all the success for the future and wish that all their dreams come true!!! We will love to visit with them again..."
