Bushwhacked in Barberton is only an hour's drive from The Kruger National Park and Swaziland.
Ideal as a stopover between Kruger and the Kwa-Zulu Natal coast or the Drakensberg mountains.
Self-catering guesthouse, chalets and campsite in Barberton situated on the edge of town backing onto an uninhabited valley, with spectacular views.
Accommodation is offered in four clean, comfortable double rooms in the main guesthouse along with three separate self contained chalet/cottages all of which have kitchen, lounge, dining area and braai/barbeques overlooking amazing views of the valley.
Linen, towels and liquid soap, sanitiser are provided.

Bushwhacked is situated just outside the old gold rush town of Barberton which has World Heritage Status for the GeoTrail and a rich history, a lot of which can still be seen and explored. The Barberton Museum is just one stop on an historical walking trail taking in several of the original 1880's gold mining houses.
The house is set in the foothills of the Makonjwa Mountains just 40 minutes from Nelspruit. This is a welcoming, comfortable and affordable place for people to relax and unwind whilst exploring the area.
If you walk out of the back door of Bushwhacked and up the mountain youll have a wooded valley all to yourself where you can spot a variety of animal species and bird life whilst following in the footsteps of some of the first gold prospectors on The Fortuna Mine Tunnel Trail. There is also a well-known birding area, a pocket of indigenous forest, known as 'Pedlars bush', close by. It's possible to explore the old Gold Rush town of Eureka City by quadbike or get an overview of the valley on a scenic microlight flight.
The scenic and fascinating GeoTrail World Heritage site can be explored independently or with an accompanying Geologist Guide.
"I have loved the place, and a readiness of the accommodation on arrival. Kathy the owner was very helpfull and friendly. I do recommend that the braai stand to be improved. Otherwise superb. Will arrive again."
"Het net daar oornag oppad Swaziland toe, maar was baie ingenome met plek. Sal dit aanbeveel."
"A neat stay in a garden that overlooks Barberton. It's in town, but on the outskirts with a good view and next to the fence. The small cottage is definitely the most private option available here. Everything was clean and there's tea, coffee, sugar and a plunger which is great. Good value for money, but very basic. A decent overnight stop!"
"loved the night sounds and seclusion...."
"We spent one night at Bushwhacked. The room was comfortable, clean and the house in general was very neat and cosy. We shared a bathroom with other guests which we thought would be a problem but there was plenty hot water. The communal kitchen had everything for self catering. The view from the patio is amazing. Will most certainly be back. Thank you."
"Loved our stay at Bushwhacked! Lovely views, relaxing rooms, pleasant kitchen and greatly appreciated washing machine available."
"Quiet and comfortable. Staff are pleasant, friendly and very helpful.<br />"
"A sadly underestimated, under-exposed piece of heaven. We stayed in their self-catering cottage with our 4-legged child and it was absolutely glorious. Every little detail was taken care of - ice in the freezer, insect repellants and lovely romantic mosquito nets. We will be back. Thank you to you both.<br />"
"We stayed at Skips shack. The place is clean and we had a pleasant stay. It was quite difficult to find his place. But he phoned us and gave us directions.<p> </p>"
"A fantastic view, spacious rooms and everything else you need for self-catering. Would definitely go back here anytime."
"What a find. We had a very comfortable stay in \Sams Shack\""
"We spent two nights at Bushwacked and it was lovely. So close to town yet far enough to enjoy total peace and quiet. Pete told us about hikes and we spent both mornings exploring the old mine shaft and tunnel. Definitely for adventure seekers."
