  "The owners were very friendly and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We enjoyed our stay and our children enjoyed themselves. They had numerous activities for the children and when it started to rain they even offered the children dvds to watch. I would recommend this place to anyone since it is affordable and enjoyable."

  "This is a child friendly, clean, neat resort with lots to do for the family, there is a small shop on the premises and light meals can be prepared for you. You will find more then one swimming pool with a slide, playpark, dam with a pirate ship! We were well received by an extremely friendly Jaco and his team who clearly have a passion for what they do, they continuously followed up if all was in order and if we were happy. If you are travelling with small chlidren you have to stop here."

  "A great spot to relax. Three options: challets, equipped caravan or bring your own caravan/tent.Pet friendly. Braai facilities. Lots of children's activities including pool, putt-putt, paintball, jungle gyms, fufislide (mini-zip-line) 2 hand-paddle-boats. 2 swimming pools both with a water slide. Pools were refreshing to swim in. Lovely open area. Nice picnic spots. Available to day visitors and overnights."

  "We really enjoyed our stay. We camped next to the pool, which the kids (and I) enjoyed. There is a small dam with some play areas around (just watch out for safety for small kids). The owners were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were a bit rustic, but had hot water and were clean. Overall a good stay - just bring lots of mosquito stuff"

  "I finally persuaded my wife to camp with me on our way to Kimberley. She loved the experience and X-Ventures was a great place to stop for the night. The owner was very kind to stay up and wait for us, as we only arrived after 9.30pm. We would love to come back and bring the kids for a longer stay. The playgrounds and pool looked amazing! Only one small negative was that the lights stayed on all night. I kept waking up thinking it was morning outside our tent."

  "It was too cold and windy for us to camp as planned. We were, with no fuss and only a reasonable additional fee, then accommodated in one of the units.. We found it a comfortable stay, with everything in place that shoild be there. Will stay again as good location for stop over between Bloemfontein and Cape Town. The camping ablutions , however, appeared to be in need of an upgrade. What is rated here is the self catering unit"

  "The owners at X-Ventures were so friendly and were willing to stay up till 9 at night to welcome us. We stayed in a little caravan and loved all the personal touches including cups, milk, coffee, microwave, oven, extra blanket, rusks, dishwashing liquid ... Nothing was amiss. Attention to detail was superb! We loved the fact that our little caravan smelled so clean and fresh! The super special thing about our caravan was that it had a display wall inside, of all the places it had been to in its life. We loved looking through the dates and the names of the places, it definitely added character! Ablution facilities are clean. Great for a stopover. The only reason I gave a 4/5 for comfort is, if you're a tall person, you might want to ask for the bigger caravan instead. Overall, we loved our stay and will remember it always."

The owners seamed friendly and willing to accommodate late arrival times.However, a number of fittings where broken, the bathroom could be cleaner and perhaps some new bedding."

  "Excellent venue for camping with green grass and nice trees ad power points. Nicely maintained. Staff are friendly and will help in any way they can. The little shop stocks almost everything (including meat for a braai). Venue is motorcycle friendly and though there is a few hundred meters of gravel road to the site it's not bad and can easily be ridden with a road bike.The only down side is the occasional train might startle you on the track passing close bye and a bit of traffic noise from the main road.I would definitely recommend it for groups of bikers traveling on road trips as there is a nice lapa with braai area if you are a group and you can get everything from the shop."

  "Playground, Pool and the garden is very creatively made and awesome for kids to play.The self-catering unit itself was functional but old style. It was freshly painted, so the smell was not too nice, but should be gone soon. Hosts were very friendly and helpful."
