"The place gorgeous, the staff is wonderful. Perfect for a romantic gateway. Just need to work on the menu, could be better."
"Well done to Amanda, Mabel and Ann for a wonderful weekend and for making us feel so welcome. We were given a menu selection for each meal. The menu selection for the Saturday night consisted primarily of fish. On mentioning that I was allergic to fish, Mabel went out of her way to give me other alternatives. The attention to detail was excellent and all meals were very well received. Nothing was too much trouble and Amanda made sure that we always had refreshments. The room was spotless and we thoroughly enjoyed the outside shower and private sitting area. The only criticism is the wi-fi, which is not free and needs to be bought. We had to go to the clubhouse to send urgent emails. However, we had such a relaxing weekend, we will definitely return. Thank you Amanda, Mabel and Ann."
"The staff make this experience all the more wonderful. Delicious meals. Competent, attentive service in an immaculate setting. Well done ladies!"
"The accommodation and food is very good. I was disappointed with the actual game and game drive in the reserve, the website is making it sound wow but in reality it is very limited. The amount of houses around you was unexpected and the amount of light aircraft landing and taking of was disturbing. So the website creates an expectancy that is definitely not met by what you arrived at.

Establishment's Response

Thank you for your feedback, we are delighted to hear that you enjoyed our food and our accommodation. Botsebotse does not advertise as a game lodge in a game reserve with the usual daily game drives. We offer a dinner, bed and breakfast rate that is at least 60% less than what you would pay at Big 5 Safari lodges that offers the same level of luxury and accommodation. As a boutique lodge, our approach is different providing our guests the option to choose what they would like to do during their stay. Guests can choose to keep it simple by merely chilling at Botsebotse, they can choose to add spa treatments if they so wish, to have a golfing stay or to book a variety of exceptional wildlife experiences, all within 10 minutes from Botsebotse's doorstep. These experiences include Big 5 guided safaris, Big 4 guided safaris which includes white lions, guided horseback and quad bike safaris, cheetah walks and elephant interaction and elephant back safaris. A price list for these activities are part of our booking process and we book these activities on behalf of our guest at no extra charge. Guests who do not necessary want to see the Big-5 stuff but who do enjoy the bush and animals such as buck, zebra, wildebeest, giraffes, etc are welcome to explore the 1,300 ha at Zebula on foot, by bicycle or by car and we do not claim that this is a substitute for a Big-5 guided safari.

Zebula is an upmarket destination and like many other destinations and private game reserves such as Madikwe, Sabi Sands, Thanda. etc, has its own private landing strip with a few planes landing in the morning and departing in the afternoon. Normally we do not have a huge amount of air traffic and we sincerely apologise if this was not the case during your stay."
"What an amazing time we had here. The staff (three ladies incl the chef) were all extremely warm and obliging. The food was divine and they catered to our dietary requirements with such ease and no fuss. The room was fantastic and perfectly suited to a romantic weekend away. The jacuzzi was also great."
