  • "Not as good as expected"

    05 January 2016

"The Guesthouse was a little disappointing - we were expecting more of an historic experience around Cecil John Rhodes! We were the only guests and the place is a bit tired. The aircon was not working properly (it leaked water) and the lights were ugly (the globes didn't fit the lamps). As an overnight stop it was adequate. The rooms are large but lacked comfortable chairs to lounge in!"

"Gary and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Cecil John Rhodes Guest House...23.5.2015. Perfect in every way. Going back in history we actually stayed in the very house that Cecil J R lived in...."

  • "Three nights in January"

    09 January 2015

"The directions to the Guest House were appalling: it was listed as being in Du Toitspan Way (which doesn't exist) and the cell phone number given was inaccurate. Consequently it took us over 40 minutes to find the property. Once there, we found the location was central, the rooms clean and comfortable, and the front garden a joy to relax in, and the duty manager helpful."
