Leopard Tree House

Set in a tree-filled garden with city and harbour views, the two self-catering units at the Leopard Tree House are sunny and spacious. Together they offer idyllic accommodation in the suburb of Berea in Durban, and boast private entrances and sweeping views enjoyed from their large windows and private balconies.

Located along Durbans ridge, the Leopard Tree House is close to Durbans University, a number of shopping centres and just moments away from the freeway with secure parking. The shady garden is well-maintained and offers braai facilities and a refreshing swimming pool; the ideal retreat from one of Durbans many sunny days.

"Cleanliness on point and the owners hospitality was great. What could be improved is parking lot space priority being given to visitors rather than residents."

  • "Neil Hosken is a very kind and caring host."

    22 September 2018

"Neil is a very kind and caring host. He does his best to make the guests feel welcome and at home. The view from the upstairs rooms, of Durban harbour, is lovely. The steps were a bit too steep for me, but the staff carried our luggage up and down. This establishment is very good value for money, and can be recommended."

"The location was convenient for our needs and hosts were amiable. Our "luxury" room is in need of modernisation. Facilities included DSTV, however the channels available for viewing were very basic (suggest that the description be amended to reflect this).<div>The pool needed cleaning and the toaster needs to be replaced.<br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div></div></div></div>"

  • "Very pleasant and accommodating"

    02 February 2016

"<div><br /></div><div>We were in Durban to visit family and friends so the location was ideal. We have a 9 month old daughter and the space in the room was excellent for her to crawl around. The only thing was she couldn't go onto the balcony, because it was too open. They have a nice lawn and swimmingpool so we could always take her down and enjoy some time outside.</div><div>The vieuw is absolutely stunning from the room and the aircon great when it's a typical hot Durban day. Neil was very welcomming and accommodating, even when we had to stay an extra night, al was organised smooth.</div><div>One tip for Safari Now, if you press on 'route to the lodge' in the confirmation email, it sents you to the neighbours across the road.</div>"

  • "Highly recommended"

    29 December 2014

"Judy and Neil were very warm hosts. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and made to feel at home.We are from Cape Town and did not know the area however, Neil went the extra mile to take us around the area so that we could have an idea how to access amenities. It really helped us to explore the place easier. We were well attended to throughout our stay.Very quiet, peaceful suburb. It is self catering and offers a lovely view and privacy. It is a 5 minutes drive to city, 2 minutes to N3 and 25 minutes drive from airport. Durban just gets very hot this time of year however, the room has air-con and fans and you can take a swim to cool off a little."
