  • "Not my best experience camping"

    23 February 2020

"Let's start with the positives. Lovely camp with friendly staff. The views are stunning. But that is if you can look past all the false advertising they are producing. First thing you see on their website is the supertube. What they don't tell you there is that is only turned in when there are 10 or more people available. So I went there to enjoy it, but could not because of this rule they refrained from stating on their website. The other pool on the property is murky and not crystal clear like you would expect from a resort like this. So I ended up taking my kids to the kiddies play area. What a hazard. The one trampoline has holes in it, and the other one is missing quite a lot of springs. The roundtable thing is broken. So I walked out to the outside play area. luckily most of that was in a working order. Made a turn on the golf course. The waterfall there was full of litter and the water dirty. And all of a sudden it was very difficult to keep enjoying the beauty around you. And all you started seeing was all the things wrong. I would definitely not recommend it. Especially not if you have small children you want to entertain. Drakensville is much better. I was really disappointed in the overall state of Hlalanathi. So sad as it is jewel."

"We camped at Hlalanathi over the 2016 Easter weekend and absolutely loved it. We enjoyedcamping under the big old trees ongrass stands, clean ablutions, excellent service on arrival, beautiful mountain views, many different bird species and security during the night and day. The on-site restaurant and swimming pool was a nice bonus! We will definitely visit Hlalanathi again!"

  • "Location central with great vibe!"

    04 January 2016

"Wonderful stay with a great vibe in the resort. Centrally situated and chalets well designed with privacy. It would have been nice if there was a small safe in the chalet to lock up some of your personal items e.g. phone, watch when you leave to do hiking trails during the day as well as more cutlery and not only 2 of each."

The nearby attractions in Champagne Valley (Falcon Ridge Bird of Prey Centre and Dragon Rock Reptile Centre) were totally worth a visit."
