  • "Teleurgesteld !!!!!!!"

    12 July 2016

"Ons verblyf by The Ledges was om die minste te se baie teleurstellend.<div>In die eerste plek het ons nie die eenhede gekry soos ons bespreuk het nie.</div><div>Verder was die badkamers nie skoon nie.....handoeke was vuil, stort nie skoongemaak.</div><div>Koppies en glase sowel as vaddoek in kombuis was vuil.</div>"

  • "Disappointing"

    03 May 2016

"The lodge is generally well kept and service from the staff is superb, however the place is in a bad state of disrepair.<div>The pool pump was not work and the pool was green. It seems the pool pumps was not working for months.</div><div>The place was infested with ants, constantly requiring cleaning. The first night the ants got into our bags, we were then moved to another room, which although better still had a problem.</div><div>In order to lock the door one has to lift the door up and lock at the same time. it seems the door hinges and locks have been replaced with old used ones.</div><div>The shower door was missing a section and thus could not be closed.</div><div>The bath room door did not have a lock.</div><div></div><div>The restaurant only operates at breakfast time which starts at 8am till 9h30, there after it is closed unless orders are placed at the front desk. Several cars pulled up for lunch or supper and drove off when they found the restaurant closed.</div><div><br /></div><div>The lodge has lots of great potential, with a great staff, I feel the owners do not invest in the lodge hence the state of disrepair</div>"

  • "Not Impressed"

    02 May 2016

"<p>Well where do we start..</p><p>The following is constructive ....</p><p>At one stage there were 9 dogs running around ,making a nuisance of themselves and barking as if they were being paid to bark. ( 24 hrs)</p><p>It was dusty, draftee and in need of LOTS of TLC...and ants were all over the place.</p><p>Electrical wiring was untidy, and switching is weird ,and cupboard door fell offand hit me on the head, when I opened it. It was replaced by a curtain.</p><p>Steps are of uneven height , and often caused a stumble</p><p>Front door does not open correctly, it has to be picked up when you open it.</p><p>May be it was just the unit we were in . I hope the rest are not like that.</p><p>This is not what we expected from" Safari now backed Accommodation. As we have been used to in the past</p>"

  • "Different strokes for different folks"

    17 March 2016

"Thought long and hard about what kind of review to write about The Ledges. We stayed there in December and at the time the experience we had was so far below our expectations that is has taken a few months to be calm enough to write a rational review.<div><br /></div><div>In short, I wouldn't recommend staying there to anyone. The most apt description for the Ledges, is that it is very, very tired.</div><div><br /></div><div>The first night that we stayed there, my wife and son were put in a separate room to me as they "had made a mistake on the bookings" . In that room, they had to endure a delightful smell emanating from the toilet which was about four feet from the bed.</div><div><br /></div><div>The following nights were then spent in a unit that although larger was also in the same state of tiredness that the other one was. The cutlery and crockery looked and felt like it had not been replaced since the place opened, the bed in the main bedroom had a plank under it so as to stop the mattress falling through. Bedding very tired. And so the list goes on.......</div><div><br /></div><div>As a comparison another place that we stayed at was technically more basic than the ledges but we had a far better experience there because the essentials in the unit were up to date. New bedding, cutlery and crockery that was reasonably new.</div><div><br /></div><div>The only things that looked moderately new there is the new thatching and coats of paint on the exterior walls.</div><div><br /></div><div>But looking at the other reviews it is very apparent that it seems to resonate with some people. So different strokes for different folks I guess.</div><div><br /></div><div>For us, if we could give it a negative star rating we would.</div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /></div><div><br /><div><br /></div><div><br /></div></div>"

  • "aewsomeness at the low price"

    30 November 2015

"<p>The Ledges is too good for its price. I was very impressed by the way the staff took care of us. They were always there when we needed help. the place is under renovations and the potential to make it even better is clear.I was particularly impressed by the location of the place. it is close to most entertainment activities we needed. It is the best place to take your mind off the city life.<br></br></p><p>I would recommend this place to more people who want peace. I would also come back again, especially in winter to experience the cold.</p>"

  • "Good stay"

    03 August 2015

"The rooms were cosy and tidy and worth the money spent. However, keep in mind it is not luxurious. The view was excellent. Please also note that the place is not exactly where it is placed on google maps. it is about 16km after turning from the R74."

  • "Stunning views!"

    04 May 2015

"We just spent 7 days at The ledges, and I truly fell in love with the place. My girlfriend and I stayed in a very spacious self catering unit, with all the essentials included. The beds were very comfortable, and the shower was lovely.<div><br /></div><div>The mountain biking in the surroundings was incredible. Definitely some of the best trails I have ever ridden. The fishing in the area was also impressive. Royal Natal National Park is beautiful in every way, you can easily spend the whole day there.</div><div><br /></div><div>The Ledges is a place close to my heart, and the landlady really made us feel at home. Thank you!</div>"

  • "The Ledges"

    12 January 2015

"My wife and I enjoyed our stay at The Ledges. It's very close to All Out Adventures for when we wanted to mountain bike or zip line and 2km from the Cavern for when we wanted to go to a restaurant. The bar at the Ledges was a fun place to go for a drink and a game of pool. The kitchen was missing a few important utensils which the owner quickly made plans to get for us."

  • "Old Fashioned Hospitality"
