"After our arrival in Johannesburg, we rented a car and drove approx. 2 hours to Bethal.<div>We stayed in The Lodge for<span style="line-height: 1.5;">one night. For us all was perfect. It was no problem, that we arrive a little bit late. And we were happy to</span><div>get a meal in the evening in the house. The people and staff were very fiendly. We ordered the room without breakfast, but it was alsolute no problem to</div><div>order breakfast when we check-in in the evening. We can fully recommend The Lodge and would stay there again, when we will be in South Africa.</div></div><div><br /></div><div>Gisela, 53 from Germany</div>"

"We booked an executive suite at The Lodge for our first night in S. Africa - somewhere not too far to drive after a long flight from UK. On arrival, feeling really tired, we were unable to get into the place. There was no one there. We were then told by a local man that the Lodge had closed down. In desperation we drove around the town trying to find somewhere else to stay, but without success. We then called for something to eat at a small cafe near to the Lodge. The owner then telephoned the caretaker of the Lodge, who then did let us in. The room was small and basic, certainly a far cry from the Executive Suite we had booked. We had paid 50% on booking. The electricity had not been turned on and to crown it all we were told by the caretaker that there would be no breakfast, as we were the only guests. She refused to give us any reduction in the cost. We paid R999 to stay in this second rate place. We have stayed in much better places for half that cost, including breakfast. We certainly would not stay at the Lodge again, we would not recommend it to anybody and we are not happy. We feel that we have every reason to ask for a refund."
