Surfers Paradise Big Bay Beach Club

Surfers Paradise is a two-bedroom apartment located in a secure holiday resort across the road from the beach in the beachfront area of Bloubergstrand - very popular with kite and windsurfers all over the world. The apartment is situated just 20 minutes' drive from the city centre and the V&A Waterfront, and boasts stunning views of Table Mountain across the bay.

The self-catering unit comprises two bedrooms, one bedroom has a queen size bed and the other has bunk-beds. All with built-in cupboards. We also have a safe in the apartment. Resort facilities on the premises include two tennis courts, two squash courts, a swimming pool, beach volleyball field, and mini-golf. There are also laundry facilities with washing machines and tumble dryers.

The beach is ideal for picnics, long walks or simply basking in the sun, and the beachfront offers many restaurants, pubs and clubs, with two shopping malls in the area. The Milnerton and Atlantic Beach Golf Clubs are but five minutes' drive from the apartment and Canal Walk with over 400 shops is a 15-minute drive away.

"A lovely little apartment, which had everything we needed. Very clean and well looked after, located right on the beachfront. Brigitte was very helpful. It could do with a few upgrades, but then I guess the price would go up too. Great value for money."

"Good location.Was a bit disappointed that there were only 2 bath towels for 3 Adults and we were there for 3 nights!Cleaning staff need to be informed about the amount of guests who will be there. For future guests perhaps a soap in the bathroom would be appreciated."

All plates are chipped, no steak knifes 3 glasses,(i bought 2 glasses and left it there) no dish for meat after braai. Oven pan rusted. Braaier outside no rooster all roosters dirty and rusted. Again i bought a rooster bring in back. Bath dirty we had to buy handy andy and scrap the batch. (Left handy andy there)dusty underneath the beds. They can really upgrade the unit. Will not refure any there and surly not going back there. Unit like that is not worth the money you paid for it.</span>"

"The place was not at all like the photos we saw on the website. The bathroom has mould in the shower & on the shower curtain, the linen smells musty, the kitchen has mismatched crockery items, overall the flat does not lend itself at all to a 'holiday home' feel. The cupboards in the 2nd bedroom were filled with spare glasses & cleaning materials which I had to remove to be able to pack my kids clothes into. Nice location, pity about the inside though. <br><br><b><i>Establsihment's Response</b></i><i>I thank Kim for her feedback. I am sorry it didnt meet her expectations.I first think I found the mould you were talking about and I have washed the ceiling with bleach. Thanks for pointing it out and washed the shower curtain with bleach as well. Bleach is the best product to remove mould.I have hung a new curtain in the lounge, if that was the curtain you talked about. A lot of guests from dry areas dont realize that it is always very humid at the beach front and it requires quite a lot of airing to prevent mould. Especially in winter. The apartment has been painted recently, so I take it Kim didnt like the colour we choose. I wonder how Kim managed to open my locked private cupboard which is full of clean linen as she mentioned. Kim may be you are better off staying at a big hotel chain in future instead of private apartments.</i>"

"We stayed for a few times now at Beach Bay which was always good. The unit at the Surfers Paradise was in such a bad state that we only stay one night and looked for other accommodation the next day. We call Brigitt Broekman but according to her everything was in order. When we open the curtains the curtain rail came down. There was not enough space for our clothes as most of the wardrobes were locked. The place was dirty and stinky. We feel we should at least get some of our money back. We sent a mail to Brigitt but with no reply."
