Blouwaterbaai Holiday Resort

Blouwaterbaai Holiday Resort is situated on the tranquil Saldanha Lagoon, just 2 km from the sleepy, quaint village of Saldanha. The resort is within easy reach of Cape Town, a leisurely 1 hour drive along the West Coast road R27.

Blouwaterbaai holiday resort has a number of comfortable yet basic, self-catering beach cottages where guests can enjoy the ambience of the West Coast. Each of the cottages has its own 'braai' area and television and great indoor fireplace where guests can snuggle up in front of during winter.

The cottages, with one, two or three bedrooms, are built amongst the Cape fynbos and blend in with the natural landscape. Each unit is comfortably furnished, the rooms are light and airy and each has a fully equipped kitchen. The cottages are designed and furnished for relaxation; no worries about sandy feet ruining a holiday. From the cottage windows parents can watch their kids playing on the beach, just yards away, secure in the knowledge that, within privacy of the resort they are safe from the outside world. Time is your own, stroll down the beach or watch the sun rise in the morning.

There are a variety of entertaining activities on and off the resort. Off the resort, there are horse riding, four golf courses, squash, bird watching, scenic boat trips, nature walks, deep-sea fishing and underwater diving. A visit to the West Coast Fossil Park and the West Coast National Park is well worth while.

Other facilities such as the Blue Bay Caf restaurant and ladies bar, as well as the childrens play park and tennis court is available to all guests staying in the self-catering units.

Take a scenic drive to all the little fishing communities and visit places where Soutmansland and Meeulanders were made. Blouwaterbaai Holiday Resort is definitely the place to be for your next weekend, or holiday breakaway.

"We loved the serenity. Good neighbours. Easy accesibility to pools and restaurant. Good services of reception and cleaning staff"

  • "Hearing the bird sounds from our beautiful cottage."

    05 September 2017

"Our cottage had a beautiful bay window with a daybed. It would be nice to provide bath towels for the cottages. We were not informed in advance about a wedding taking place during our stay which restricted us from using various facilities. The service at breakfast the Sunday morning was not acceptable either. It felt like they wanted to get rid of us and mentioned they had a fully booked lunch. Ultimately, the wedding resulted in poor service to the other quests."

  • "Relaxing but windy"

    25 December 2013

"It was clean and close to the beach but very windy all four days. The beach was dirty, the seaweed have off a bad smell. The kids never swam once or played on the beach. They were also bored as there was no games room or tuck shop to buy sweets or Ice cream from. Has breakfast at he restaurant and it was good. The staff are friendly and would rather stay in the lodge next time instead of the cottage."

    "Relaxed and peaceful."

  • "Visit to Blouwaterbaai from 8 - 10 July 2005"

    12 July 2005

"We had a lovely weekend. Very peaceful and the children did have lots of fun as they could entertain themselves in a safe environment with games like tennis and trampoline etc. Units were clean and self sufficient and the fire place inside was nice as it does get cold. They can however situate the light outside better as difficult to see at braai area at night. All in all, a nice place to unwind and not too far from Cape Town. Will be even better in summer, I think."

    13 June 2005

"Stay was peaceful and relaxing. Issues I feel need attention:1. The bedrooms have no heating facility, extremely cold at night.2. The entrance door has no curtains/blinds - cold and no privacy.3. Braai area has no lighting.4. Some color would brighten up the chairs and bedrooms Besides these issues, enjoyed the stay. Thank you"
