"Although the facilities are clean and pleasant we were left with rather a 'bitter taste' and personally would not recommend this establishment. We have stayed in numerous guest houses across the country for 'racing' and 'week-end away' purposes. Never have we been met with such an unprofessional attitude. Price (on all sites Advertised) Includes B&B but breakfast is in fact 'on request'. On arrival we waited +- 15 minutes (3 x sessions of knocking) for the door to finally be opened. We were then met by, we assume, the domestic worker who showed us to an upstairs room (at no point in any adverts does it make mention that the room is upstairs), as this did meet with our satisfaction and also out of consideration to any other guests (we depart at 6-00 each morning on Race Week-ends with heavy bags) we requested to rather stay in the 'Africa Room' which has it's own outdoor entrance. We were duly shown to this room and permitted access, we were then informed that the room only gets cleaned on a Fri and Monday and we would need to clean it ourselves on other days (not a major thing but... odd). Our 1st experience was that 'kettle cleaner' had been left in the kettle - had we not figured this out we could have been violently ill with possible hospitalization. There was no hairdryer provided and no one on site to request such. On Friday afternoon I eventually got hold of the owner telephonically to request a hairdryer, she then informed me that they would be back 'sometime' on Saturday Afternoon. Friday night I had a hairdryer but no double adapter and not a soul onsite to request one. Sunday morning the owner finally met with my husband prior to us leaving for a day of 'sightseeing', in our travels and as no mention of the account was made by the owner when speaking to her, we duly made the final payment into the Safarinow account and copied Guest House on POP. Sunday night with a 12 hour journey ahead and a 04-00 departure time, we elected for an early night only to be rudely woken up at 20-00 by the owner banging on the door of our 'clearly in darkness' room to issue us with a copy of the invoice, I informed that we had indeed paid already and copied her on the POP. At around 20-25 she returned to informed us that 'there was no email and no money in her account', arguing that she had sent a mail telling us to pay the balance in 'cash' or EFT into her account (never received anything of the sort), then proceeded to argue that the Invoice clearly states balance is due to her (it doesn't state anything of the sort), demanding that I re-send our email and copy of the confirmation of payment I'd received after making our payment (she too had been copied in by Safarinow). Well so much for that 'early night' wide awake and hugely irritated by this stage. Our Question to the owner: If you wanted the money deposited into your own account why didn't you (like every other guest house) draw up your own Invoice with your banking details clearly listed on it and leave it in the room on Thursday/Friday or Saturday? (We usually receive it on our 1st night and mostly with the nice touch of a little choc or 2) and If you knew you were not going to be available to manage your establishment why did you accept the booking. Our trip to PE tarnished and 12 hour journey home done with just over an hours sleep in the end. Suffice it to say we won't be booking in at Alrezel again."
