Signal Hill Lodge

Signal Hill Lodge is ideally located amidst the slopes of the Signal Hill Nature Reserve and offers quality guest house accommodation. The lodge overlooks the historical and colourful Bo Kaap district, presenting guests with unprecedented views of Cape Towns City Bowl, Table Bay and partial views of Table Mountain.

The panoramic views greet guests from the foyer and beckon further from tiered terraces, room balconies and the elegantly presented dining room. Close enough to the inner city buzz yet far from the maddening crowd, Signal Hill Lodge provides comfortable and affordable accommodation for short business trips or extended leisure stays.

Savvy city visitors will relish the centrality the lodge offers, as both the iconic Table Mountain and the world renowned V&A Waterfront are in close proximity. Signal Hill Lodge is the quintessential place to stay when visiting Cape Town, and in particular the Bo Kaap.

"the breakfast - I didn't get to have any because I didn't realise that it was a buffet. also, it was quite loud - guests were noisy."

  • "Generally nice"

    03 June 2017

"The lodge is generally nice. We rented a budget priced room, so I presume that's why we got one next to the laundry room on the bottom floor. The staff was quite noisy in the morning, heard the receptionist complaining loudly and warming up food in the microwave at the crack of dawn. So it wasn't good to sleep in. The room for 2 had it's own bathroom but the door is open around all edges, so there's no privacy at all. My partner and waited for each other outside of the room to do "important" stuff. The receptionist was also not interested when we asked her stuff at the desk, she looked bothered that she had to look up away from her email. Generally the place is clean, the beds were comfortable, all was good, but he staff were rather off."

  • "Disappointing"

    12 May 2017

"The lodge is lovely, perched high up on the signal hill slops overlooking the city and harbour. Sadly the comfort of the room was not as appealing. The bed was two single beds put together but the one bed was higher than the other. This made the bed very uncomfortable. The bed was not made well and had to be stripped and remade. The room was next to the pool and had a nice sound of running water but the automatic pool cleaner kept on coming to the surface and sucking air, this went through most of the night. The air conditioner had a loud electrical buzzing sound even though it was off. I would suggest adding some sound proofing on the doors as you can hear a mouse walking in the passage. The bathroom had an instant water heater but you could only have warm, warmer and hot water. There was no cold water available in the shower or basin. Breakfast was very nice and the views from the dining room was breathtaking. All in all my stay was ok, it could do with some improvements."

  • "The highlight was the view from top of signal hill."

    08 April 2017

"The beds are not confortable. Thr price paid per. Night was nit justified. Could have stayed in a hitel on thr beach in Milnerton for the same price. The shower and basin setup with mini water heater is not convenient. Nomplace to pack or put toiletry bag or even to put toothbrush at thr wash basin. Very noisy area and there were parties and noise from the scanty area till 2:00 am. If you return late, you will have no safe car parking inside the premesis. You will then have your car outside in unsafe area and it would be damaged by honeless people that live in shacks 100 meter away in the bush. Overall not worth the. Oney paid and I will nit recommend this b&b establishment. The staff at reception were amazing. The cleaning staff has no respect for guests that check out at 9 am or 10 am. You will hear them screaming at each other and cleaning rooms. The kitchen and washing room doors are left open and there is no ambience of peace or hospitality principals."
