  "The surroundings are beautiful with a breath taking view over the lagoon and see. Was even able to see dolphins swimming past. The rooms are very clean and very comfortable beds, I am over 2 meter tall and the king size bed was a winner. The service was outstanding and they went out of their way to make me feel at home. This is really a hide gem that is well worth the money you spend. I will highly recommend the place and will definitely stay at the lodge again. Thank you for the great service and experience."

  "My friend and I spent two nights at the luxury suite of The Thatch Guest house. The manager Nikky is very sweet and made sure we were comfortable. Very neat, classy and peaceful...and the breakfast is lekker!Will definitely stay there again on our return to East london."

  "Rooms neat and furniture good, but to me it lacks some personal touch. (Only personal observation?)English breakfast excellent, fruit and continental lack freshness.Host/wife friendly and helpful.Not so keen on guests moving past our room all time on way to theirs? No sea view from rooms, only from dining area/patio."

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Thatch. It does live up to its rating opposite. We found all the staff very pleasant and helpful, and they went out of their way to make our stay as enjoyable as possible. We were without a car and found that the accomodation was a little further from the centre of town than we expected, but staff again were most helpful in helping us to get transport. Meals were excellent.We wanted tours further afield and there did not seem to be too much available - that is no reflection on the Thatch - but on the availability from East London Tourist Board. There is real room for improvement here.We would not hesitate to recommend this accomodation to anybody."

  "I booked 'The Thatch Guest House' on the internet while still in the UK, and was only booked for use as a 'watering hole' for our trip from Cape Town to Durban. Looking back, that was a mistake and not enough time was spent either relaxing or enjoying the area. I must say that our stay was absolutely fantastic. We were well looked after and the house and views were unbelievable. For our next holiday, 'The Thatch Guest House' will be on our itinarary."

  "Wonderful place!Lovely rooms, immaculately clean, very comfortable, fantastic view and a lovely guest sitting room, with a magnificent breakfast.Very helpful staff - we arrived late and were helped to find a local restaurant, loaned maps etc - this place fully deserves its 4 star grading, and I would recommend it highly to other travellers. "
