  "This place was really perfect for my family and i . my 5 year old boy and 1 year old had an amazing time there. They loved seeing the Ostriches and swimming in the pool. The facilities were clean and i cant fault anything with the house. The pool was clean and although the shallow end wasn't a big portion it was shallow enough for both my kids to enjoy. The food was... ok could be better thats the only thing i wasnt too happy about but everything else was great. THANK YOU SO MUCH my family and i will deffinetly be coming back"

This should be emphasised from the beginning, for safety reasons. Also the lack of proper housekeeping and hygiene really lets the establishment down. The bathrooms and rooms were not thoroughly cleaned and had dirt marks and a lot of dust. We asked for cleaning materials so as to see to this ourselves. In addition, the thatch roofing of the house had a lot of dust and many insects which would fall onto our heads or swarm around us (bees nest in one of the rooms).   "Although the lodge itself is really nice and neat, a few things spoiled the experience- there is a very bad 6 or 7km stretch of dirt road to get to the lodge. If you are there to stay and not to go anywhere it is OK, but to travel that road twice every day is inadvisable. Also to share a cottage with strangers is a bit uncomfortable, especially with the wooden floors that allows sound to travel. We had a mom and crying baby above us which meant that we didn't really sleep. If you go in a group and you all know each other in the cabin, it will be a different story. To summarize it did not tend to our needs, but it will be a nice place to stay if you know what you are getting into."

  "We were driving for miles in what seemed like a pretty dull landscape in the heat of summer. And all of a sudden we drive into this beautiful farm/guesthouse, with a lovely garden and a wonderful sense of freshness and peace. The rooms are really nice and clean. The owner is kind and friendly, with a love of wildlife which is obvious in the place, and can cook great dinner on demand. Excellent breakfast too, and overall pleasantness."

  "We were not happy with the road. No one warned us that the road goes into tar and the markings had been turned so you couldn't see them. This is very dangerous as you can loose control of your car if you do not expect the tar to go into gravel. This made us very unhappy as we were two ladies driving alone at night and I hate to think of what could have happened. The rooms were freezing cold. There is no heater in the common area and it is cold. There were no glasses to even poor a glass of water. You should advise that the bathrooms only have baths, this is not ideal in winter and freezing cold as the bathrooms have no insulation or heating. The cost for dinner is unacceptable. It couldn't have cost for than R70 per meal. There were no coldrinks to choose from except Coke zero and tab and then that also ran out. The gate should have a motor or intercom system, it's unacceptable that you expect your guests to get out of there cars to open and close the gate."

Hostess could not have been more accommodating from picking us up at the airport, welcoming us with a snack and sherry on arrival, arranging the trip to Pilansberg and providing information about the bush country.Value of the accommodation for the price could not be surpassed."

Quite remote, but nice and quiet if that is what you are looking for. Only spoke to the host on the phone and she was nice and polite, but in the two nights we were there they never ventured from the farm to meet us, which was quite disappointing having travelled the length and breadth of the country and having stayed in several ... more"

  "The 2 nights were wonderful; peaceful and secure with great hospiltality and kindness. The lodge is building a pool which we are looking forward to at the next stay. There is a large braai area which we could not use because of the rainy weather but that did not stop us from braaing because there was a large gas spit braai. It was a wonderful experience for my family."
