Stone Safaris

Stone Safaris is an exclusive, privately-owned game ranch situated approximately 10 km from Brandfort in the heart of the Free State. It is a game viewing paradise where each guest receives personal attention. Enjoy luxurious accommodation, incomparable cuisine and warm hospitality all aimed at ensuring an enjoyable stay.

We have six log cabins; two of the cabins sleep six guests and the rest of the cabins sleep four. They are situated next to the main lapa overlooking the watering hole. The self-catering cabins are fully equipped with fridges, stoves, crockery, cutlery and linen. Each cabin has its own bathroom and shower with hot and cold water, and a toilet. Enjoy a perfect sunset while watching the animals from the comfort of your chalet.

There are two Stone Chalets which have six beds each and are ideal for the camping enthusiast. They are situated in the game park and do not have electricity. The shower uses gas for warm water. Crockery is supplied but you have to bring your own linen, towels, gas stove, gas lamp and firewood. We do have freezing facilities available on request.

Each wildlife game drive is planned individually to meet your exact requirements and expectations. Night drives and various other package deals are available. Come and experience true Africa and unspoiled bush, and tour the game reserve to view our collection of more than 46 species of game including lion, white rhino, giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, buffalo and other large animals.

"The hospitality is bad,The owner is rude and these pictures we see here are decieving, this place is not as beautiful as it looks on pictures. we struggled to find the place because Tonja the owner could not give us gps cordinates, when we finally found the place, they did not pick up their phones we had to hoot outside. the rooms are dirty and i cannot believe that when we left for the concert saturday morning they thought we were running away, i mean we left 2 cars there and they thought we were running away with R1680, i mean i descent places we pay the balance when we check out, but there i think they don't like black people beacuse even our rooms were not cleaned when we came back saturday night."

"The place was not bad but i had the bad experience with the lady that i dealt with and will send them to Hello Peter as i thought the treatment that i got from here was unfair and was not necessary. i will never come back to Stone Safaris and will not recommend it to any one nor my friend and family. Thank you."

"Our booking was for two cabins, with two persons per cabin. On arrival (20h00) we were all booked into one cabin. Unfortunately all other cabins were occupied. Tonia stated that the booking received from Safari. Now was incorrect and that recently they had received several wrong bookings. Due to this she was going to terminate their services on Monday 18 June. When travelling we do not share accommodation with our friends because we prefer a certain amount of privacy i.e. own bathroom, sleep disturbance, etc. We were not told that our reservation included breakfast and a game drive. No toaster, inside table nor hand soap provided (we were not asked to bring toiletries apart from towels.) Cabins bitterly cold, one small hand fan heater was insufficient to heat cabin. Three chairs provided for four people. Old food found in the microwave."
