• "PERFECT BEACH HOLIDAY - WITH OUR FUR KIDS TOO!"

  "This home-from-home is the perfect place to totally relax with your human and fur family in the beautiful, unspoiled West Coast nature and the beach is even closer than it looks on the photos! The house is also far bigger, spacious and private than imagined from the photos we were pleasantly surprised. The protected large stoep was where we daily watched the dolphins frolicking right in front of us (and even from our beds). While out on the sea, these curious dolphins and seals came right up to the kayaks to investigate. We also spotted (and fed) a few tortoises that wandered around. Two neighbouring cats were also spotted, but because of our dogs, we unfortunately couldnt win their trust to befriend them. Guinea fowl prowled around the open veld and streets behind the house.The sunsets are spectacular and we were surprised how many stars were visible here at night. We had lovely walks on the long, open beach and often enjoyed coffee or sun-downers on the steps at the end of the board-walk, while watching the waves, bird life and our dogs having endless fun chasing balls (afterwards they would flop exhausted and contented next to us on their cushions for most of the time). The full-size snooker table, many board games and books here on offer also gave us hours of enjoyment.The nearby Super Spar (and OK Mini Market) offered all the basics to stock up on extra groceries (and good, cheap DVDs that one could buy to watch at the house).We appreciated both of the fully equipped indoor and outdoor braai facilities (with wood or gas), making potjies and braaiing fish or chops there. For the first time we hardly felt any need to go away to explore other areas in the vicinity of this holiday home this place was our happy place. However, we did enjoy a great meal at the nearby Alegria beach restaurant in Slippers Bay, St Helena. And before packing and tidying up on our last day, we ventured a little further to Paternoster for an early supper at the Voorstrandt beach restaurant there (which is also dog-friendly). Another most enjoyable outing was to the Port Owen Marina Resort at Velddrift for a game of putt-putt, before going on an informative guided sunset trip on Tollies Boat around the estuary (book at 079 763 6966) - ending with some refreshments at the local pub/restaurant afterwards.We can whole-heartedly recommend Pats 3 Dolphins beach house for a memorable holiday experience! Youll even enjoy extra peace of mind with outside perimeter security beams connected to an alarm system. The only suggestion for improvement that we have is that the court yard be enclosed with gates not only for extra security, also to keep dogs and small children from wandering outside to the beach or neighbours when any of the various surrounding doors to the court yard are left open to allow a breeze through the house (or when the adults are napping or relaxing with a book somewhere in this huge house). Visitors with dogs, remember to bring your poop scoop and extra plastic bags (we created a temporary beach sand patch for the dogs on a plastic sheet in the court yard and we also temporarily enclosed the court yard in our own way so that our dogs could be left securely out there for short times when we went to the shops or if they wanted to go out at night for a wee).And lastly, the cleaning lady, Dawn, is such a lovely person who could be contacted personally, should you wish for extra cleaning or washing assistance (a washing machine is not available to guests, however, there is a dishwasher in the kitchen).Our sincerest gratitude to Pat for opening her lovely beach house to us we hope to come back again! Wish we could share some of our photos of this incredible piece of paradise"

  "3 Dolphins enjoys a stunning location right on the beach and we were lucky enough to be able to watch dolphins every morning we were there. It is a lovely house but there is no air conditioning and no fans provided so very hot inside with windows closed and there is a concern about security so did not feel happy sleeping with windows open."
