La Chaumiere Guest House offers stunning accommodation in a luxurious family home surrounded by magnificent, lush, park like gardens. Spoil your loved ones, and enjoy some time with us. The original section of this comfortable, charming home was built in 1906 and is surrounded by magnificent trees some 100-years old. The garden has numerous areas where guests can relax, take a dip in the pool, or follow the babbling stream through eighty acres of natural fauna and flora. The African thatch provides a cool haven in summer and in winter the oil heaters in each room, underfloor heating in the main entertainment areas and the open fireplace make it cosy and warm. Accommodation is offered in four guest rooms in the main house, all with windows overlooking the beautiful gardens. Three of these have en-suite bathrooms, and the fourth room has a private bathroom at the foot of the stairs. Each room features electric blankets, a tea and coffee tray, and DSTV. In addition, self-catering accommodation is offered in a private stone and thatch cabin, and in two log cabins which are situated on stilts high up among the tree tops. Guests can enjoy their own braai using our bush kitchen next to the pool deck. A fridge is available there for keeping your food and drinks cool.Secure parking is provided. A laundry service is available on request.Please note: Breakfast is not included in the rate. If you would like breakfast, it can be ordered at your reservation.

"This is property with great potential. It is located close to all the well-known venues around Harties and you find it very easily. Unfortunately the traffic is very noisy if you are staying at the big house. The house needs some attention as it is outdated - bedding is old and at night the outside lights shines through the curtains. The garden needs a bit of maintenance to bring it back to life.Overall - I expected more for the location, but considering the amount we paid compared to the number of people that was accommodated, it is reasonable.We received friendly service and was provided with everything we required or requested.We had a very nice breakfast and the girls enjoyed it very much!"

"The stay was comfortable. The gardens are impressive and we would have loved to stay in a similar setting but the Log cabin we stayed in does not afford a lot of privacy if someone else is sharing the other half."
