La Montagne Guest Lodge

As our French name suggests, La Montagne is a 4 star lodge nestled on a mountain, facing the picturesque Magaliesburg Mountain Range with breath taking, elevated views of Hartbeespoortdam, that creates a peaceful and romantic ambiance. It is the ideal environment in which to unwind and be rejuvenated and although secluded, we are centrally located between Jhb and Pta.

Our well manicured gardens and beautiful setting is the perfect place for a romantic, relaxing weekend away.The lodge has been designed to fit in with the natural surroundings and has been decorated with artifacts from all over Africa. Finishings have been handcrafted from Rosewood and Rhodesian teak which makes the entire Lodge feel welcoming and homely to all our guests.

With 2 pools, a Restaurant, a cocktail deck, licensed bar and breath taking views from nearly everywhere on the property; there is more than enough to keep you utterly relaxed during your stay in our peaceful & tranquil part of the world.

Also available is a beautiful Conference center designed by the original owner herself as well as our Large Aloe Venue available for weddings and a newly built open air chapel available for all types of functions and weddings.

Established in 2004 La Montagne Guest lodge is a family run and owned business that has been operating for over 14 years now which adds to the welcoming and homely feel of the Lodge. Originally a little farm house La Montagne has slowly grown over years to be a spectacular 4* Lodge accommodating over 30 guests sharing in all our rooms.

"The place is beautiful. Service excellent. The food is excellent. We stayed in no 2. The finishing is not good, (fridge falls over when opening the door, tiles in the bathroom are loose, shower curtain and not a glass panel, etc.) I expected better for the cost paid. Overall the stay is good."

"Private log cabin. Sounds wonderful. Except!All deliveries to the lodge were done directly against our left rear bedroom wall very loudly! We had a towel the had a bad damp smell. I reported the damp tell to reception and the towel was not s replaced. Other guests wondered into our supposed private Jacuzzi area. You can't see the tv from the bed. The water in the taps is dirty. No warning no bottled water. Beautiful views but not from the Jacuzzi. The eggs at breakfast were like rubber the first morning. I find the 8, 5 rating confusing and misleading."

"Lovely place, beautiful view. But the Lodge needs some serious maintenance all over, entrance was the main is an eyesore. Road to lodge could use some maintenance as well. Breakfast was good. Some issues with the luxury tents:No hairdryer in luxury tentNo braai facilitiesHad some electricity issues over the weekend. I will definitely recommend the lodge, just would be a perfect getaway if the above is in order."
