Grootvlei Cottage is a luxurious, renovated self-catering farm cottage comfortably equipped with a large fireplace, fully equipped kitchen and two gorgeous bedrooms with white bedding and towels. Activities include bird watching, hiking, fishing, and the viewing of blesbok.

The farm is situated 3 km from Caledon, which owes its origins to the hot water springs on the slopes of the Klein Swartberg Mountains. Within 30 minutes' drive from Grootvlei Cottage, guests can visit the charming towns of Hermanus, Botrivier and Greyton.

"The beds were comfortable, the towels soft and the cottage clean. There were even rusks for breakfast. We asked if there was a chance of some meat for the braai. Lovely chops, wors, salad and a freshly baked bread waited for us at the cottage at a very reasonable price. Thanks so much. Sitting outside around the fire was the perfect way to end a long day."

"Loved the peace and quiet of wheat fields and farm cottage; balm after city frenzy...an easy weekend distance from Cape Town. Calm decor and comfy bedrooms, clean bathroom with loads of pristine towels, quaint kitchen and clever backup braai indoors, if weather is too miserable to braai outside. I appreciated the cleanliness. Spent day at hot springs. Left Grootvlei feeling refreshed and recharged."
