Boesmanskop Farm Accommodation

Boesmanskop Farm Accommodation is located within a short drive of Calitzdorp, a Karoo town on the famous Route 62.

The farm offers its guests traditional Little Karoo hospitality with a choice of two Suites surrounded by lovely gardens. The Suites offer single and king-size beds and share the use of a bathroom. Guests can play a round of pool or relax in the lounge with its cosy fireplace. Dinner and breakfast are available on request at an additional cost.

Calitzdorps beauty is largely due to the fact that the Swartberg, the Rooiberge and the mountains of the Huisrivier Pass surrounds it on three sides. Calitzdorp is famous for its production of some of the countrys best port wines. There are various walking trails in the Gamkaberg Nature Reserve, the Redstone Hills and at Retreat at Groenfontein. Birding in the hillsides and the fynbos is more than rewarding. A short drive on the famous Route 62 will get guests to Oudtshoorn and all it has to offer such as the Cango Caves and the annual KKNK festival.

  • "Highlight of our trip"

    21 December 2019

"This was our second stay, and just as good as the first. An awesome setting looking over vineyards and towering mountains. Tienie is a fantastic host and chef. The best food on our entire trip, starting in Cape Town. Lovely decor, gardens, cool rooms on a hot day, and breakfast under the vine-covered trellis. We need to stay longer next time."

  • "Tranquil"

    03 March 2016

"Boesmanskop Farm was the most peaceful and relaxing 2 day stay on our trip. The accommodation was lovely, very spacious with lots of interesting features and antiques all adding to the old world charm of the place. The food was amazing, 4 course dinners, cooked by Tinie (best souffl ever!) and served In the original family dining room to add to the experience. We did not know what to expect but are now so pleased that we stayed and would certainly recommend it as a place to stay for some relaxation if you are ever in the area. Wonderful. Contrary to the other reviews we had no trouble finding it, just follow the distances given!"

  • "Very Disappointed"

    08 January 2016

"The location of the farm and what I guess the standard was must have been good at some stage. The "main" guest house had this awful smell of wet dogs/rotten carpet....terrible. The bedroom was okay but not clean - cobwebs against the curtains and dust everywhere. The upper loft room in another building the children stayed in was very nice except the the shower head was so clogged that hardly any water came out. The shrubbery on the pathways is so overgrown that one battles to walk to your front door. The once lovely wooden chairs on the patio are so rotten they should be used to make a bonfire. The pool is disgustingly infested with frogs and yet the owner seems to think it is acceptable to swim in it. I am very disappointed and will not go back there again."

  • "Luxury farm accomodation"

    22 August 2015

"Lovely stay. Great food and accomodation. Tienie is very friendly and welcoming. How ever, the directions on the Safari Page are completely wrong. If you take the turn off In Calitzdorp on calitz street, it is going to take more than just a few km. Drive through calitzdorp from Cape Town towards Oudthoorn for 13km and turn left at the Kryisriver turn off and continue for 19km."

  • "A hidden gem"

    14 February 2014

"Although well hidden away on a dirt road, Boesmanskop Farm is well worth the trouble of finding it. The surroundings are idyllic, some of the best I have seen in South Africa, and the accommodation is out of this world. I stayed in the large room that is in a separate building, it is furnished with great attention to detail with antiques and reclaimed materials, and includes a free-standing roll top bath. The views of the countryside from the upstairs windows are very relaxing and I'm only sorry I only stayed one night. Tinie's 4 course evening meal served in a gorgeous dining room, again furnished with antiques, is fabulous and provides a great end to the day. Boesmanskop Farm deserves to be top of any accommodation league table!"
