  "The total feel of a train station was a wonderful experience. The ticket office that we slept in was a nice experience and very comfortable. The kids lived the trolley that they ride on on the the train tracks. Everything was just perfect"

  "Safe, friendly, and convenient camping spot. The hosts were cheerful and welcoming, and struck the perfect balance between making sure that I felt comfortable and cared-for, and respecting my space so that I could enjoy my time. The main area can get a little noisy on a Saturday night, as it does host a bar, but everything was quiet by half-past ten, which I felt was reasonable. With a clean and well-maintained ablutions block and a useful little kitchenette, this was ideal for an overnight camp."

  "It was a first staying in a ticket office of a railway station. So a different experience with the track right outside your doorstep. The extra large room was well decorated and beds comfortable. Kitchen very large and showers and toilets in the 'ablusion block' close by."

  "From the moment we arrived Cheryl made everyone feel at home (particularly in helping us acquire some sixpacks after hours). The ticket office is spacious, tastefully decorated and extremely good value for money. Wine farms and good restaurants within walking distance."

  "Calitzdorp station was a great choice for us to escape the city and enjoy the Klein Karoo. We stayed in the safari tents which are spacious and the beds are comfy! The kitchen has everything you need and there are braai facilities - just a win win. Cheryl is awesome super friendly host who goes the extra mile. I highly recommend this sweet escape"

We walked to wine tasting, shopping and dinner so ideal for bikers who want to give their backsides a rest before the next day's journey. Very highly recommended.   "Our family of 4 just loved this quaint and unusual spot. We stayed in the very spacious and carefully decorated ticket office and just loved the novelty! The kids played endlessly on the pully goodies and swam in the 'dam' (water reserve). Very quiet and peaceful, full of character and delightful features!"

  "My husband and I (with our two young sons) had a brilliant time. My 8-year old said, as we were getting into the car to leave, "This was the best holiday."<div><br /></div><div>We stayed in the Ticket Office for 2 nights. The accommodation is clean and the kitchen is spacious, has a large fridge and is fully-equipped. Dry wood was provided for the two indoor fireplaces which was fantastic when it got chilly. This was quite exciting for the little boys too - to be in bed next to a burning fire!</div><div><br /></div><div>Though we did some lovely exploring of the area, our boys always looked forward to coming back to the accommodation. They rode their bikes all over the large property; played on the rail trolleys up and down the track; watched birds and heard owls; and even going to the public shower/toilets was an adventure.</div><div>Cheryl could not have been more welcoming, friendly and helpful.</div><div>Ch</div><div><br /></div>"

  "was an amazing experience at the railway station with very accommodating hosts, we camped in our own tent and the grounds were very clean &amp; neat, we were able to purchase wood at the site which was very convenient and there is a bar on site too, thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will be back, definitely a place to visit if not stay over, a lot of history in the area. The hosts are very knowledgeable and ensured our stay was pleasurable. Thank you"

Cheryl was extremely welcoming and hospitable, and we enjoyed a restful night's sleep in the tent, which was very comfortable in beautiful surroundings just a short walk from town. The station has been beautifully restored and is in a lovely setting. A real historical gem!"

  "What a great experience this was. The ticket Office converted to rooms are very spacious and comfortable. A very big kitchen. It must be noted and also stipulated in the advertisement that the ticket office does not have an en-suite bathroom and that the guests have to use the ablution block. We had the opportunity to watch the rugby in the Pub and it was truly enjoyable."

  "We camped for 11 nights and had a wonderful time! The location is beautiful, facilities are clean and everything met all our needs. Cheryl and Michael are the perfect hosts and were exceptionally helpful and generous! We enjoyed the fact that there is a bar on site and we were able to get to know other guests and socialise a bit. It was excellent value for money and we would recommend it any day! Thank you for a lovely stay! :)"

  "We chose to stay at Calitzdorp Station for one night, as a stopover. In the end, we wanted to stay longer. Having done a 5000km holiday trip with various dog-friendly accommodations, this was one of the better ones. Cheryl is friendly and helpful, the tents are clean, the ablution facilities are pristine and everything else is not to be complained about. Preferring off-season, we were alone, and it was fantastic, and felt safe. Mosquitoes are a bit much, so take your Tabard. If you like photography, the station itself is full of potential. It's a safe place for well behaved doggies to run and play in the hot Karoo afternoon air."

  "What a great place for our stopover. Cheryl made us very welcome, and the safari tents were great! Lovely white bedding on the comfortable double bed, the ablutions were very clean too. Braai facilities close to our tents.The other available options, the Ticket Office and a 4 bed back packers room were immaculately clean, we will definitely recommend this place, and will be back again!"

  "I stayed at the Railway Station with my family on the evening of 22 December 2012. Apart from the amazing service we received from Cheryl and Michael, the surroundings and location are amazing. Really enjoyed the train carts and the rustic bar area. Will visit there again."
