  "Ons het heerlik gebly in Carmel Villa. Die gasheer en sy vrou het uit hul pad gegaan om vir ons tuis te laat voel. Baie aandag word gegee aan detail. die ontbyt was uit die boonste rakke!"

  "What a beautiful house and wonderful hosts. We stayed in the rooms in the house which were beautifully appointed. The breakfast was super tasty. Highly recommended."

  "Although there is what appears very nice accommodation in the main house, we chose to use the unit detached from the house. Very neat, <br/>clean and comfortable, it was a little small, but as a stop-over it was perfect for us. Excellent breakie was provided and the location allows for easy strolls around the little town. The hosts are very attentive and friendly."

  "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this historic building. The owners are very friendly and welcoming and made sure that everything was just the way we wanted it to be. The breakfasts and the fudge in the main house were delicious. The self-catering unit was small but cosy with just the right amount of space for two people. Although the town of Calvinia does not have a lot to do, the Carmel Villa is definitely worth a visit."

  "We stopped overnight on 2 June and were warmly greeted by Gezina and Marcel. The house has an amazing history relating to the Jewish influence on Calvinia - a history we were not aware of. Gezina has made an impressive album and write up on the history and well worth reading. The breakfast was tasty. The room we had was comfortable but the bathroom was tight and anyone struggling with steps, not this room. Apart from that, can happily recommend Carmel Villa and the warmth of the owners. Easy to walk into town"
