  "You won't find better value for money in Calvinia. Friendly service, beautiful room, quiet street (i.e. not on one of the main roads), great restaurant ... overall a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely recommend and stay there again."

  "The main house is beautifully restored and a treasure, however the separate guest units are a poor imitation. Cracks in the wall, disgusting grouting between the floor titles and a raw chipboard cupboard all scream cheap and nasty. Trendy decals and a tasteful colour scheme cannot hide the fact that the duvet cover had not been changed since the last guests' occupation. The full room rate was charged despite the fact I was travelling on my own. This was the only establishment I encountered on week's travel around the country that did this. You're spoilt for choice in Calvinia - look elsewhere."

  "Accommodation here is very good and gets 4 stars. Room clean and comfortable. Service in restaurant problematic, i.e. at breakfast no sugar on table, no butter offered with toast, no crockery or cutlery at self-service cereal counter, plates cold, cold food. Evening meal disorganised - tables not set. All of the above problems could be avoided if tables fully set before meals. This would also make life easier for the waitress. Restaurant gets 3 stars."
