Ikaia Africa Lodge - Out of Africa Guest Houses

Situated in the Karoo, Ikaia Africa Lodge offers warm hospitality and comfort in eight private self-catering units.

Each air-conditioned unit has a well-equipped with fridge, two-plate stove; microwave; frying pan; crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils, self-catering kitchen with tea and coffee facilities as well as rusks and three cereals. Braai equipment is also provided. The comfortable units are furnished with double and single beds and have an en-suite bathroom with a bath or shower each. All bedding and towels are supplied and in winter all beds are fitted with electric blankets and winter sheets, as well as two warm, thick blankets for those cold Karoo nights. A television with the Hotel Premium Package DStv channels is available and guests have a private entrance and a veranda where they can relax and enjoy a sundowner. Braai packs are available on request for those who want to enjoy the famous organic Karoo lamb chops and sausage. Kindly note that the lodge is a non-smoking establishment, but smoking areas are provided outside.

Each unit has an ironing board and iron and insect repellent and emergency lamps are provided. Hairdryers are supplied on request and a laundry service is available after a stay of three days. The entire complex is fenced, well lit and has lock-up parking for each unit.

The lodge is situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of the town, but is within walking distance of the business area and restaurants. The local museum hosts a variety of interesting pieces and guests can visit the interesting Corbelled house. A Tortoise Reserve is locate on the farm and is home to 60 mountain tortoises, some responding to their names.

"We were warmly welcomed by the friendly owner. The accommodation was great for an overnight stay for our family of 4 adults and 2 children, very quiet and comfortable. The flatlets were nicely appointed and spotlessly clean. We loved the original art works on the walls. :)"

"Ons is so vriendelik ontvang by 'n goed toegruste oornag"huis". Niks kortgekom en baie tuis en veilig gevoel. Sukkel aanvanklik net met die straatname in die dorp wat ontbreek, maar het reggekom.<br></br><i>We were kindly received by a well organised overnight "home". Nothing was lacking and very comfortable and felt safe. We struggled initially with the street names in the town that are missing, but were fine.</i>"
