Lord Carnarvon Guesthouse

Lord Canarvon Guest House offers modern accommodation in this beautiful Karoo house, built in 1886 by Frans Carel Te Water. The house has been restored to its former glory, evoking memories of a bygone era of Karoo grandeur.

The guesthouse provides accommodation in 21 air-conditioned rooms, all including satellite TVs and en-suite bathrooms. The guesthouse is furnished with a mixture of modern facilities, and Karoo antiques.

Guest can relax in the communal lounge with a warm fireplace for the cold winter nights. Enjoy a selection of traditional Karoo meals on request at the guest house or at one of the local restaurants. There are braai facilities on-site, as well as secure parking.

"We only stayed one night en route to see the flowers around Clanwilliam. We were so pleasantly surprised by the Lord Carnarvon. The antiques and the way the owner has furnished his house....all the interesting ornaments, etc. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional. We will make a point of going that way again...."

"We enjoyed our stay. Pieter was a gracious and extremely helpful host, going out of his way to assist us with a tyre problem as well. We found his staff to be courteous and efficient. The meals at the Lord's Kitchen were excellent. We will and have already been back."

"Griet, die juweel, wat ons so vriendelik ontvang en behandel het, was 'n 'hit'. Baie dankie. Persoonlike aandag deur Pieter was ook baie lekker. Ons het heerlik gekuier, baie dankie.Een opmerking: sal volgende keer vir kamer vra aan voorkant van gastehuis. Was bietjie gehinder deur mense wat oorkant die straat woon."

"Centrally located accommodation, we were right next to the restaurant in an apartment. Very nice decor. For self-supply also everything available. Unfortunately the Wifi did not work that day. The breakfast is especially good."

"This is 5 star accommodation whichever of the room options you take. One option is on the main street which is conveniently situated next to their fantastic restaurant. You must try it. The other is in a Beautiful Victorian house full of antiques a couple of blocks away where breakfast is served in the most amazing dining room. Owner Peter does anything to make your stay a memorable one. One tip, if you inquire on the Internet be prepared for a wait, but it is worth it,  best to phone direct.<br />"
