Gig Bed and Breakfast and Self-catering

Gig Bed and Breakfast and Self-catering is located at the foot of the Windvogel Mountain in Cathcart. Guests can relax on the deck and enjoy the view, or in the outdoor thatched lapa. Conference facilities are also available for business travellers.

Guests have a choice of staying in one of eight rooms, five of which have private entrances. The rooms are furnished with either twin beds or a combination of a double and single bed, or a double and bunk bed. Six of the rooms have en-suite bathrooms with either a shower or a bath, and two rooms share a bathroom with a shower and bath. The rooms are equipped with TVs with DStv and Wi-Fi Internet access, and three kitchens are available for cooking. Meals are also available on request at an additional cost.

The Windvogel Mountain's slopes are known for gliding and guests can go hiking, birdwatching or mountain biking on various hiking trails found in the area. Guests can also go horse riding or quad biking, and various aloe species and other wild flowers can be seen and photographed. The Sam Meyer Dam is just 3 km from our property and is ideal for braais, water sports and fishing.

"Unfortunately Cathcart Municipality had switched off the water for the day, and had not switched on by the time we left the next morning.Cobus had provided us with bottled water to help with our immediate needs.This problem was definitely not the fault of Cobus, and he really tried his utmost to overcome the situation."

"B&B - Bed comfortable. Breakfast to be made your self - Weetbix or Post toasties - Coffee was to empty containers, and if you are late, it should be mentioned where, to buy food on the way, before you get to Cathcart, as the 2 stores where to buy food after hrs had very stale food - but otherwise I at least from the experience and what questions to ask"

"Did not expect us. Could not find any reference to our booking, Had no idea of where we were supposed to stay. Accommodation shown was inferior in every respect. I rather left and continued to East London to find alternative accommodation."
