Ihophe Cottage
Nestled in the peaceful Central Drakensberg, you will find Ihophe Cottage. The double-storey, thatched cottage boasts unrestricted views of Champagne Castle, Dragons Back, Cathkin Peak and Sterkhorn.
The cottage sleeps six guests in three double rooms and has a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge with a TV. You will need to bring your own DStv smartcard. Braai facilities are available.
There are some lovely hikes in the area and Bushmen caves and paintings are not far away. A falconry farm is close by with regular displays and trout fishing at the Bell Park Dam is a populqar actiity. Several good restaurants are situated in the valley, as well as a number of interesting curio shops. There are also helicopter flights available in the area. An 18-hole golf course is situated at the Sports & Racket Hotel.
The world famous Drakensberg Boys Choir is a stones throw away; regular concerts are held on Wednesday evenings in the school auditorium during term. Enjoy the complete peace of the moody mountains, the brilliant starry skies at night, the wonderful bird life, summer storms and winter snows. 01 May 2014"We so enjoyed our stay at Ihophe, a perfect little cottage with wonderful views. Quaint rooms and adequate facilities. Our only snag was that our dstv card didn't work as it is a newer card and is only paired to our machine. Will definitely look at going again. Thanks for having us!"
