Areena Riverside Resort is situated on the banks of the Kwelera tidal river, 23 km east of East London city center, at the beginning of the Eastern Cape Wild Coast. Areena Resort is in the center of the newest S.A. tourist destination, the Jikeleza Wild Coast Route, which is at the southern gateway to the Wild Coast, a place of many tidal rivers with world-class open beaches. Home to the Areena Game Park with its diverse and abundant game giraffe, zebra, blue wildebeest, ostrich, and many antelope varieties.

Areena specializes in providing prime caravan and campsites, as well as luxury cottages, conference facilities, team building, and adventure sports right on the water's edge, with unsurpassed views of the river.

Areena Quays Restaurant and Pub serves a wide variety of scrumptious meals alongside the slipway.

"Stayed as a couple from 26th - 29th February.<div>Very well appointed suites. Ideal facility if you want to relax. Although we did not participate in any of the activities on offer, there was plenty to do.</div><div>Reception staff very pleasant and accommodating, however we recommend you double check your booking arrangements. We really enjoyed our stay however some attention to maintenance of the property and grounds is necessary. The property is looking run down and tired. General daily cleanups such as sweeping the restaurant deck and surrounds is lacking and with the amount of wildlife walking around we were constantly dodging piles of poop. Other than this we had a really pleasant stay and would return one day.</div>"

"A fantastic place to relax with family. The office staff were wonderful, from the time we booked in, the quad rides chap was friendly, that we went out twice. The young lady at the office, sorry I didn't get her name, went out her way to inform us of events happening eg zip rope. Thanks for a wonderful time we will be back."

"A group of us hiked down the Wild Coast, paddling the last few kilometers to Areena. Although it was winter, with few resident campers, we were treated like royalty and spoiled rotten. The rooms were great, and the catering fantastic. Would happily recommend the facility to any Wild Coast hiker."
