Sewefontein Guest Farm offers visitors the opportunity to stay on a working farm just a short drive from Citrusdal. It is the ideal base from which to explore the surrounding attractions, like the Cederberg, Clanwilliam, Lambert's Bay or Elands Bay on the West Coast.
Guests have a choice of staying in the four-bedroom Homestead or the two-bedroom Cottage. The rooms are furnished with comfortable three-quarter, single, double or queen-size beds and linen and towels are provided for both units. The kitchens are equipped with fridges and ovens, and the lounges have cosy fireplaces for cold days and nights.
The Homesteads main bedroom features an en-suite bathroom with a shower only and the second bathroom consists of a shower and bath. The Cottage has a shared bathroom with a bath and shower overhead. Both units also have a patio with lovely views of the surrounds and mountains.
Situated on a farm, guests can go on long walks through unspoilt fynbos or orchards, do some bird-watching, go for a swim or fish in the farm dam, or visit the rock paintings on the farm. A 4x4 route is also available. Veld flowers can be viewed in September, as well as the drying of fruit in December and January.
"It was the best couple of days I've spend to relax in a very long time. The place is beautiful . Thanks Jenny for allowing us to share your beauty and peace."
"Alles was perfek, baie oulike cottage, mooi uitsig, lieflike stilte"
"Loved our stay and so appreciated the extra touches- the rooibos tea straight from the farm- amazing!!!!"
"We absolutely loved our stay in the cottage at Sewefontein abd cannot wait to go back again. Honestly, it is by far one of the nicest and best equipped places we have ever had the pleasure of visiting. I loved the attention to detail (proper shampoo and bodywash in the shower), a electric blanket, plenty of fire wood, a massive bowl of naartjies and, my favorite, three Victorinox knifes in the kitchen. We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights in the cottage. The cottage was comfortable and clean, the surroundings were quiet and the views of the moutains, from every angle of house, are just stunning. I highly recommend this place and we'll definitely be back. Thanks so much Jenny!"
"Peasefull and privat weekend with good friends."
"Really beautiful venue with majestic views of the mountains and valley....big house and garden for the children to run around and very friendly and helpful owners. Thank you Jenny and Philip we will definitely come again!"
"Beautiful setting. Pretty cottage. Exceptionally clean. Very relaxing. Will be going again."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Log fires and electric blankets for the cool mountain nights, beautiful scenery, and friendly hosts. Well equipped kitchen in a relatively spacious cottage. The boys also enjoyed bass fishing in the crystal clear dam. A holiday to remember! Thank you Jenny and Philip!"
"The absence of gauze on the windows and lack of air conditioning was a problem. We had to close all doors and windows at night to keep out the insects and mosquitoes and had only fans to circulate the air."
"Lovely cottage in the middle of nowhere with beautiful views of the mountain, orchards and naartjie trees. Fireplace and electric blanket was a big plus, kept us warm. When we arrived ...there was a jar with rusks + jar of fresh rooibos tea on kitchen counter, a small chocolate on each pillow and they have packed the wood for us in the fireplace. When Jenny heard we wanted to eat the next day at The Sitrus Restaurant, she phoned and made a booking for us. It was a wonderful relaxing weekend away from our every-day busy, stressful life. We would definitely visit Sewefontein Guest Farm again."
