Cedar Rock Resort is situated in Clanwilliam and is the only resort located above the banks of the Clanwilliam Dam. There are nine well-appointed units to choose from.
There are Two Bedroom Units that can be converted into a one-bedroom unit at a reduced rate. There is one Three Bedroom Unit that sleeps six people. All the units have kitchens, making them ideal for self-catering. The living areas have TVs with DStv. There is a communal braai area for guests and a field where games can be played and families can relax.
The dam is most known for its boating, water skiing and fishing opportunities. Guests are also able to spend time in the wilderness with its wild flowers, rock paintings and hiking trails. Clanwilliam is one of the ten oldest towns in South Africa and guests are able to enjoy a historical walk through the town visiting many monuments and museums.
"It was amazing. Thank you so much for a lovely weekend. Will definitely be back."
"We do have a problem regarding our booking which had been confirmed by yourselves as Quote 4 of 43 X Two Bedroom Units and 2 X One Bedroom Units Total 514 adultsNow we have to pay another R1600 for accommodation for the Bus driver that has been included in our booking. This is totally unfair and if any person on the tour was not happy, they should have contacted us.Cedar Rock took it on themselves to fix a problem we were not aware of.Please advice"
"our stay in a beautiful setting, clean and comfortable unit<br/>Lieflike en skoon eenheid. Baie goed toegerus. Pragtige uitsig op die dam."
"Not really pet friendly. Bad room service. Nothing for kids to do. Unfriendly hostess. Noisy violent campers. Not what it's advertised to be."
"We expected to find the accomodation units on the dam - meters walking distance away but discovered that there is a fence and a municple camping ground between the dam and the units. This is not indicated on the website. One has to drive to the Clanwilliam Dam Resort and pay to have aaccess to the dam. <br /><br />The units are as well equiped, clean and luxurious as advertised. However, this is not a resort. There are no facilities such as a swimming pool or playground equipment for children. There are lovely grassed areas but that is all. This place is suitable for adults looking to get away for a bit of RnR.<br /><br />The biggest deterrent to returning here again would be the camping site below the accomodation. It is an absolute eyesore and horrendously noisey. There were groups playing there "getto blasters" from their car boots from 6am in the morning till 11pm at night at top volume. <br /><br />The banks of the Clanwilliam Dam Resort area equally disgusting. We spent half an hour trying to clear a safe access path to the waters edge for the children - the ground was littered with used condoms, condom packets and broken glass. We will never return to the side of the dam and would not reccomend it to anyone - it has to be the most disgusting venue we have ever frequented. <br /><br />So, if you are looking for a quiet, lazy getaway in very comfortable lodgings, Cedar Rock Resort fits the bill but perhaps Mon to Fri will be quieter than a weekend and perhaps going out of season will also make a difference.<br /><br /><br />"
"Cedar Rock is a beautiful place - and spotlessly clean!<br />Unfortunately the area below the resort is a picnic/camping site from Friday until Sunday and there was music blaring almost continually! On check out we mentioned to Felicia that the noise had been a problem to us as we were unable to sit on our patio and enjoy a braai and a chat due to the noise, to which she replied that we were lucky that they quietened down so early - we did not call 23.15 early! The music started again just after 06.00 on Sunday.<br />However, we would recommend the resort during the week if you are looking for a quiet time. <br />"
"WE ENJOYED OUR STAY IN A BEAUTIFUL SETTING, CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE UNIT AND WILL RETURN TO FURTHER ENJOY THE FACILITIES AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS."
"Very clean and new. Spacious rooms and unit. Price reasonable. Friendly and efficient staff. Will use again if in area."
"The accommodation at Cedar Rock was excellent, clean and with all that is needed in the kitchen I would stay there again."
"We only stayed one night, but found the resort to be exactly what we were looking for. It was very clean, spacious, comfortable and very nicely decorated. The ground floor unit we had was in the front row, so we had a fantastic view of the dam and were able to eat out on the patio, which was kitted out with table and chairs. Will definitely stay here again if we are in the area."
"Lovely interior fittings, beds were very comfortable, friendly and helpful staff, lovely patio area. Hot water is gas supplied and will take a few minutes to come through - shower is the best option. I would have liked a small supply of washing-up liquid. However, overall I would stay at Cedar Rock again."
"Lovely clean well maintained flat. Great view over the dam, wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you."
