    11 January 2020

"Lekker groot familiekamer gewees. Hotel aan buitekant kan doen met lagie verf en swembad en braaigeriewe kan bietjie opgeknap word. Restaurant was baie oulik en lekker ontbyt gewees. Ontbyt was nie so warm nie alhoewel dit op warm plate was."

  • "No Highlight"

    20 August 2018

"It was an overnight stay and that is all it is good for. Rooms are grubby, linen doesn't look clean, breakfast is a disaster from a service point of view. (one young lady to look after everybody, not good enough) Parking, although advertised is inadequate. This hotel used to have class when it was Strassbergers. Now it is just another room!"

  • "Perfect location for staying in Clanwilliam"

    07 May 2018

"Very central, yet quiet, helpful staff, the bedroom was larger than I expected, only the "parking on premises" was charged at an extra R50, which was not advertised, and should be. I would still recommend it."

  • "The pool and the arts festival!"

    02 October 2017

"Clanwilliam Hotel was friendly, breakfast good, and the room comfortable. The pool was great in the 36 degrees, and the shower was huge and had a handgrip. The annual lantern festival run by UCT and Magnet Theatre was fabulous!"

  • "CLANWILLIAM HOTEL"

    03 January 2015

"ABSOLUTE DISASTER. Checked out and went to another hotel. This hotel (?) should be removed from your website - no facilities, dirty and dated rooms. Air-con not working. Suspect characters hanging around - did not feel safe. only redeeming feature was the pleasant receptionist - Nickoline.REMOVE FROM YOUR WEBSITE."

  • "WOULD NOT STAY THERE AGAIN"

    27 October 2014

"I would not recommend this Hotel. It does not provide the guest with the facilities expected in a Hotel and seem to be a hang out for locals. We went out in the evening to Lambertsbay and on our return around midnight, we found our room sliding door unlocked. The curtains which we closed were open. lights to the bathroom (which was off when we left) was on. Luckily nothing was missing, so it's a mystery. We could not find anyone to report it to. We only found very drunk people hanging around in the reception are with no staff around."

  • "Stayed over"

    23 July 2014

"Rooms neat and clean, beds very good. Slept well. Were not very impressed with the open shower, water everywhere."

  • "Disappointing stay"

    10 September 2013

"I was deeply disappointed with my stay at the Clanwilliam Hotel. While the staff are friendly, the bathroom was dirty when I arrived, and there were annoying regular checks on the electricity meter in the room, including when I was reading in bed one morning. Parking is charged R25 per day extra, and while there is a kitchen sink and twin hotplate, there is nothing in the room to use for cooking in, not even a kettle for tea/coffee or a mug. No communication came from the hotel that the electricity would be off for an entire day. At least the sheets were clean and I was given a glass to drink from. Not good value for money at all, and not up to hotel standard. The separately owned Andees restaurant on the premises is a pleasure however."

  • "July 2013"

    16 July 2013

"Great rooms, restaurant and bedding, but poor access control. Locals from the street come in via the main entrance, sit and drink in the ladies par and pool table area, hang around the foyer, make noise and have full access to the "secure" parking area at the back. I could not have a drink in the ladies bar in a quiet place for which I paid for, it was all occupied by locals from the street who did not pay a cent. Never again.<br></br><b>Establishment's response</b><br></br><i>Good day<br></br>The Bar and restaurant is privately owned. And there were rugby on.These places is not strictly for hotel guest. His wife/mother apologize to reception, and said that he is rude when he have been drinking.</i>"

  • "So-so"

    06 December 2012

"For the price that I paid I cant expect much. The building is old the floors creek a bit spooky. The bed was at least firm but they could put more pillows on the bed 2 per person."

  • "Bad"

    08 October 2012

"Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. False advertising, unclean rooms and just horrible."

  • "Disaster"

    28 August 2012

"What a disaster! Filthy carpets, no soap, no glass to drink water, no hangers in cupboards, no bed lamps. For R400.00 p.n this is a rip-off. We were supposedly to be informed by booking agent that above items are not available."

  • "Clanwilliam Hotel"

    27 August 2012

"There were good and poor parts to our stay. The dining room and food was good but the rooms, although comfortable, need attention to the smaller items to make it a truly pleasureable stay. Many of the things you would expect from a hotel were just not there, such as glasses and kettle in the room. We felt that the rooms which appeared to have been recently renovated needed a woman's touch."
