"Fresh country air, friendly host, beautiful view across the dam, space and comfort."
"We had a wonderful stay at Rondegat! The chalet was neat, clean and had everything we needed. The wild flowers all around the cottages were beautiful and we could wander around on trails through them. Nice braai facilities outside and a nice little fireplace inside for the cold and rainy weather. But the view....so, so stunning! The most peaceful setting and you can sit on the stoep and revive your soul. Will DEFINITELY be back."
"The silence and tranquillity of the farm and the view over the dam were lovely. Our hostess was very helpful when our car broke down and the resort is well managed. An otherwise lovely stay was marred only be VERY inconsiderate neighbours in the adjoining cottage who were still racketeering long after 1am when we went next door to ask them to quieten down sothat we could have a little sleep."
"The place was easy to find, check-in was hassle-free. We were asked for a breakage deposit which was promptly refunded 2 days after we checked out. The unit was neat and clean, we had a lovely view over the dam. It was quiet and dark, we had a wonderful nights rest. The 2 farm dogs popped in to say hi, they are friendly and well socialized. The area is beautiful and great to explore."
"We were not given the lovely cottage in the picture, but a small flatlet off the barn- apparently the info on SafariNow is incorrect! We paid in full, but were put into a unit off the noisy barn, with no view and a ridiculously tiny bathroom. Never again! Also be mindful that the dam is extremely low and is hard to access from Rondegat."
"Road is bad. Beds are not nice."
"For a 1 night stopover it's not very convenient as it's 14 km on a dirt road. Of all the places we had booked into, it was the most expensive for getting less. Fortunately I had packed towels and soap as neither was supplied. Also no tea/coffe etc to welcome one and it was just too far to travel to buy 250 ml of milk or something for supper. The 2nd bedroom had no overhead light(only a side lamp) and the lounge light wasn't working so we sat on the hard wooden bench in the kitchen. Not a place I'll put on my list to revisit. Also only place where we had to put a R200 'key' deposit down that will be reimbursed later."
"Quite rustic but had everything you needed. Lovely Verandah with a braai and a view of the dam. Pity the dam was so low but was lovely to walk around. Road was a little rough. Loved the peace and quiet."
"Ouderwetse inrichting met sinaasappelkistjes uit de jaren zestig. Niet comfortabel. We voelden ons niet welkom, want meteen na onze aankomst "mochten" we geruime tijd wachten, voordat we naar binnen konden. Gn handdoeken, zeep, tv, internet, koffie, thee, suiker enz. Nauwelijks licht in de woonkamer. Check in: 14:30 (za. & zo. zelfs 15:00), check out strictly 9:00. In acht maanden rondtrekken door Zuid-Afrika hebben wij dit nog nooit eerder meegemaakt. Pets only allowed in cottage nr. 1 (het door ons gehuurde huisje) No pets in the down pool. No aggressive behaviour or excessive barking. Hun eigen herdershond sprong echter telkens opnieuw wl in dit (mini)zwembadje en hun beide honden blaften regelmatig te pas en vooral te onpas. ZAR 300 refundable/breakage deposit is payable on arrival. De gravel road van 15 km was vrijwel onberijdbaar. De mulle zandweg omhoog naar de receptie was bijna onmogelijk voor een sedan. De steile weg omhoog naar de cottage zat vol hoog uitstekend rotspunten en was vrijwel onbegaanbaar. Het uitzicht over het stuwmeer was mooi."
"What a terrible experience, We decided on going to Rondegat to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. From the photos of the cottages Rondegat advertised, we were happy to pay R1350.00 for the weekend. On arrival we were given a dump to stay in. It was an old cottage, it was dirty and disgusting, All the others were newly build and looked decent. The bed was terrible, the bathroom was dirty, the toilet was taped with ducktape, there were no steak knifes to eat our steak with, No long glasses ( only 5 kiddies glasses), the back door could hardly be opened, They advertise tea & coffee facilities... There was none...I would not even have paid R600.00 for the whole weekend to stay there, instead I had to waste my money and was so embarrased to take my husband there for our anniversary. I wish I could post photos for the people to see what the place actualy looked like. They will definetely never see us again. <br />"

"As promised, a lovely view especially at sunset. The refundable R300 breakage deposit came as a surprise and I suggest that it be added to the booking fee as I, for one, do not carry cash of more than a few rand. I also suggest that more care be taken regarding departure dates of guests as we were expected to leave a day earlier than booked and Anne-Marie's husband attitude was hostile when their mistake was pointed out."
"After a friendly welcome, we enjoyed the peace in wonderfully scenic surrounds. More crockery and cutlery would've been appreciated but that aside, it lived up to its promise of providing a relaxing time.<br />"
"What a beautiful view. The cottage was equipped with whatever we needed. Beautiful surroundings, peaceful and quiet."
"The house has a fantastic view over the dam of Clan William. You have your own space with minimum or no interference. The place offers a peaceful atmosphere which cannot go unnoticed."
