Clarenitis Cottage

Clarens is situated at the foot of the Maluti Mountains, close to the Golden Gate National Park and the Kingdom of Lesotho. The town offers beautiful scenic views and a mild climate, making it a tranquil town for city dwellers. Clarens is fondly named Jewel of the Free State for its crisp air and vast mountainous area.

Clarenitis Cottage is ideally located close to the main road in Clarens and has stunning mountainous views. The cottage features two bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Each bedroom has two single beds, electric blankets and underfloor heating, while the kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering with an oven, microwave, fridge and freezer. The living area is open-plan and has oil and gas heaters for those winter evenings.

Clarens Golf and Trout Estate is located close by for golf enthusiasts and there are plenty other activities for those who love the outdoors.

"When we arrived, the place did not look like much from the outside, but when we entered the cottage, WOW! What a delightful, gorgeous cottage. We could immediately see that the place had been lovingly and tastefully renovated, furnished and decorated, we absolutely loved it.Should we in future decide to stay in the village again, we will not hesitate to enquire as to the availability of this cottage, and will certainly recommend the place to any of our family or friends wishing to spend a few days there. I absolutely concur with previous tenants who have rated this accommodation highly.Being lovers of the outdoors and living on a remote conservation orientated estate, when searching for places to stay we normally look for places such as small holding / farm options close to where we want to be which has been the case with our previous visits to Clarens. This visit however I decided to find accommodation in the village to give my wife the opportunity of enough time to get in some shopping therapy which I must say she really enjoyed. The cottage was clean, tidy and as neat as a pin, and the sleep quality was excellent. The cottage is kitted out with everything that one can possibly need for self catering accommodation and is very conveniently situated a few minutes walk from the village square where everything happens.A big thanks to Debbie for sharing this cottage with not only South Africans but also the international world"

"We went to Clarens for white water rafting and were so pleased to arrive at this adorable cottage on a huge corner property, a few minutes walk to Clarens square restaurants and shops. We absolutely loved staying in Clarenitis Cottage and enjoyed the sunny porch and beautiful scenery from the garden. Inside we had everything we needed, a comfortable lounge area to relax in after dinner, a modern large bathroom, and the large master bedroom had stunning views of the mountains. I will highly recommend Clarenitis to all my friends."

"We really had a wonderful weekend in Clarens, this is a lovely cottage, actually it is a home and it is around the corner of the big square where you can browse in all the little shops. The house is lovely with a nice little stoep and a great view, it has big bedrooms and a proper bathroom. We will certainly be coming back in summer to enjoy an other great weekend in this cottage. This house is certainly suitable to stay for longer periods than just a weekend away."

"From the outside the cottage looks quite plain, however inside, the bedrooms are very nice, the kitchen well equipped with an excellent coal fire in the living room. The bathroom is new and very clean with piping hot water and a heated floor (you need this in winter). It would have suited us if there had been a shower. Overall a very nice place at a reasonable price, I will certainly recommend it."
