  "We had a really nice stay at Hilltops. The house is well appointed with anything you could need for the weekend. It is in a great location - just a 15 minute walk to the downtown square. The house was clean and the grounds had recently been maintained. The decor is a bit outdated, but the house was comfy and easily accommodated 6 adults and 4 children."

  "Loved the deck with table, chairs, braai and day bed! Loved the big yard for our animals. Loved the comfortable beds, having a dishwasher and a super microwave/convection oven and great shower. Thank you for providing us towels upon request. That should actually be standard equipment in a guesthouse. A simple TV that works would also have been nice.The agent Brian Robinson was helpful and kind. Thank you for a lovely, cosy home away from home."

The guest mentioned that there were no towels, which is in the description online and in the message sent with each quote and that she felt that the <g class="gr_ gr_24 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling" id="24" data-gr-id="24">bedlinen</g> and crockery <g class="gr_ gr_27 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace" id="27" data-gr-id="27">was</g> not of a high enough standard. Note: it is all hospitality grade. She also repeated that the house was very clean and tidy and that <g class="gr_ gr_25 gr-alert gr_spell gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del multiReplace" id="25" data-gr-id="25">Mamako</g>, our housekeeper was friendly and always on time.</span></div>"

  "We found the accommodation was perfect for us and we were a family of seven, three been grandparents, an the facilties was more than adequate with excelelent setting and viewing. We would definately recommend Hilltops any day."

  "We enjoyed our stay at Hilltops very much. Nice and cozy around the fireplace. Clean and comfortable. It is a beautiful house with perfect view. Can only imagine how pretty it can be in spring and summer as well. The mountains are breath taking and we took about 2000 photo's this weekend. Jane is an absolute darling. She is a warm and friendly person. There realy is nothing that we can complain about. We would definately tell others about Hilltops and the friendly people there. For all your trouble and friendly help, also a BIG thank you! Thanks again for everything and all the best for you, Jane and your families."

  "We did not feel very welcome in the Hilltops owners house. On almost every wall there were notes. "Do not do this, do not do that." We were almost scared to sit on the coach! They also have VERY strong cleaning rules! We ignored that rules but it was not very nice to see what they expected of us! We went out there to have a holiday! We think it is actually their private holiday home that they should not rent out. For instance the kitchen... there is 12 cupboards of which 8 was locked of with 'private locks' 2 had cleaning stuff and 1 had a dustbin. We had to live out of our cooler box because there was no were to pack out our food that did not belong in a fridge/freezer. Unfortunately it was also a very load weekend from the informal settlement side. With us sitting next to our fire in the eveningd the only thing we heard was there shouting and load music. Coming from Jo'burg we went to Clarens to get away from noises like that! Clarens will maybe see us again but Hilltops will never ever see me again!"

  "Hilltops is the best of both worlds. It is up on the hill above Clarens and feels very secluded, yet the town center is only a 10 minute walk down the hill. The views were spectacular! The deck and braai areas were great. All the ammenities you would expect were there! The only down side is there is no oven available, but there is a four-burner stove. I would highly recommend staying at Hilltops!"
