"One again. There was nothing that we did not enjoy. Ill be back again."
"Bruce and his team are dedicated to making you feel like a guest of honor. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, you are afforded your privacy and when visiting for breakfast or just passing by everyone you meet has a sincere smile. Imagine my surprise when I woke up to check out and found that in the early morning hours my car had been washed to take the journey home."
"Out stay at Lake Clarens can only be rated as just OK. Nothing really to complain about and also no WOW to rave about. The room was clean and comfortable, but the decor definitely needs a re-vamp and some feminine touch. The breakfast was good, but the staff serving it need serious training and finishing touch. Overall I would say is was a bit below average experience,I expected more."
"We stayed in Room 5 which faces the garden. It was comfortable with all you need, including bath and shower. If I had to complain, it would be about the TV channels, they could include a sport channel but overall it was very comfortable; within walking distance to the square where everything happens. The breakfast was superb and sitting outside made it so much more special with the awesome views and great outdoorsy feel.Next time though I will request a room in the guest house as the views will be superb."
"The breakfast was what made the experience ultimate, as for the rest, it was mediocre. The main lights kept tripping and even when checking in, it was not hospitable at all - having the security guard show us in but not dressed approrpiately nor offering us the delight that we were looking for. Friendliness goes a long way. The first impression upon arriving set in disappointments. I have stayed in better in Balito for less, so I would have expected something more remarkable given the existing reviews that were posted. Even upon checking-out and leaving, there was just a lack of friendliness from the lady who worked at the restaurant next door. The question is, would I stay here again, no... not even for the breakfast experience again."
"We had a good stay at Lake Clarens Guest House, Bruce runs a nice Guest House, the rooms are clean, the linen is clean and the rooms are decored out nicely.<div>The breakfast is first class and neither my wife nor myself could complain about the service at the Guest House.</div><div><br /></div><div>We had one minor down fall, on Saturday evening we wanted to shower, however the water was cold. After a while I investigated and found the circuit breakers for the geysers had been switched off. As I could not find anyone around, I switched them back on so we could have hot water. Needless to say after an hour waiting, we had a warm shower each.</div><div><br /></div><div>Otherwise we would recommend the Guest house and will return when we visit Clarens again.</div><div><br /></div><div>Thank you Bruce and Team</div>"
"We had a last minute business trip we had to arrange and my boyfriend and I were so very happy to have got accommodation here. It was our first time in Clarens and Bruce the owner made sure we will definitely go back. The room was very clean, beautifully furnished and the bed was very comfortable. They really go the extra mile here, one gets fruit and snacks with your tea and coffee in the room, the breakfast is yummy and they even have a car fairy who washes your car in the morning. The restaurant next door to the Guest house has food as well. It was recommended we try the pizza, and we now recommend you try the pizza. Thanks Bruce, we will be seeing you again."
"Lovely guest house. Very welcoming and totally equipped for the cold weather - loved getting into bed with an electric blanket. Will definitely stay again."
"Not pleasant at all. The place is tired and run down - far from 4-star quality. The only good thing was their breakfast"
"As always, had a wonderful stay at Lake Clarens. Will definitely stay again.Highly recommended."
"A very cosy place to relax and take in all the beautiful surrounding. Really enjoyed ourselves and would certainly return. The friendly staff made our stay all the more homely."
"Highly recommended. A restaurant on the premises does not require going out for dinner. Rooms are well appointed, clean with cozy underfloor heating for chilly winters evenings. Had an excellent breakfast on the patio overlooking the lake. Highly recommended."
