Moindis Guesthouse is an Indo-Moroccan haven for discerning travellers in the quiet, leafy suburb of Colbyn, Pretoria. This guesthouse is the essence of true hospitality, Indo-Moroccan style. Situated just east of the Union Buildings and the Presidential Quarters, we are close to Loftus Versfeld Stadium, the University of Pretoria, CSIR and the Botanical Gardens, and there is easy access to the N4 and N. We are also close to Acadia, Hatfield, Brooklyn and Eastwood shopping centres, several hospitals and specialist medical centers, and more than 80 embassies. Moindis is popular with both local and international travellers.
The dcor seduces with lovely touches from India and Morocco and the cuisine trips you into an exotic dreamworld of camels and mesmerizing music. Spices and flavours of the desert tickle the palate in dishes such as aubergine caviar, wood-grilled red pepper salad with capers, tuna and olives, Moroccan lamb tagine smothered in honey and cinnamon with nutty couscous and orange and date salad. Or try bstilla, bobotie, denningvleis, Kenyan chicken, North African koftah, Karoo venison pie, or our tantalizing Indian curries. Moroccan chocolate cake, poppy seed cake, fig tart, almond cake, mhancha and nutty meringes washed down with mint tea or cardamom coffee round off the gastronomic experience. Staying over in one of the stylish rooms is a must. Staying over and not enjoying one of our Moroccan tagines is a sin.
