Situated in the small village of Colchester in the heart of the Sundays River Valley, only 36km from Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) our establishment is proud to generate most of our electricity through solar panels harnessing sunlight and providing a greener and more eco-friendly experience for our guests.
The property borders on the Addo Elephant National Park with just the game fence separating the properties. The Guest House offers lovely views of the plateaus ridge inside the Park and you may even spot some game from our upstairs wooden decks while sipping on sundowners.

We provide a comfortable, luxurious and safe stay in our establishment, consisting of 3 guest bedrooms in the Main House as well as our 2 bedroomed self-catering cottage. Each guest room in the Main House has a private ensuite bathroom with towels and linen provided. We have secure onsite parking as well as an alarm system for our guests complete peace of mind.
Breakfast is included for all guests staying in the Main House while the Self-Catering Cottage is equipped with all the household amenities necessary to make your stay comfortable. From the moment you step into our Guest House youll find an array of energy-efficient amenities designed to maximize comfort while minimizing energy consumption. From our energy efficient LED lighting, solar geysers and gas hobs we invite you to experience comfort created in an environmentally responsible manner.
Your host Vicky, will ensure your stay is enjoyable and relaxing with superior African hospitality that Nukakamma Guest House is renowned for. Vicky is an accomplished cook in the kitchen and offers traditional South African dinners to both Guest House and Self-Catering guests on request. Guests can enquire directly with the Guest House regarding our daily menu, guided game drives into the Park, cruises on the Sundays River or any other special requests.
The surrounding areas offer an abundance of wildlife, a vast variety of vegetation and rich cultural heritage. The name Nukakamma is the name given to the Sundays River by the Indigenous Xhosa people, meaning 'grassy waters'. The name refers to the banks of the river that are always green, despite the arid terrain it runs through.
