"The historical buildings. Clean and comfortable. Friendly host and staff. Breakfast was delicious"
"Great welcome. Awesome staff. Clean accommodation."
"Host was very welcoming. Very tidy and clean spot. Rosie makes an amazing breakfast."
"We were received by a very friendly gentleman who showed us to our room and also mentioned where we could get a quick dinner! Inni Kraal turned out to be great as well. The room at Nanna Rous was clean and spacious. My only comment is that the towels were terrible, I would really suggest in investing in a few new towels."
"The staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was on point and sufficient for the days journey ahead of us. Thanks."
"What a lovely and very friendly accomidation in the heart of Colesburg. They have a supurb location and was a great place to overnight with our dogs."
"We were relocating from Durban and this place proved a great half way stop between Durban and Cape Town albeit in a bit of a run down town that looked abit dodgy but turned out perfectly safe. The owners were very friendly and even accomendated our two cats that were traveling with us. Rooms were neat and tidy and very comfortable with full Dstv. Would definitely recommend."
"Clean and comfortable"
"Room was freezing cold, two small blower heaters did not have any effect. Gas heater in room empty!Although we had booked ahead we felt that no care had been made to ensure our room was made comfortably warm."
"Everything was perfect for an overnight stay.. If there was a aircon! Specially in a hot place like Colesberg."
"Everything was was perfect, you made us feel so welcome."
"The location, the bed was a bit getting used to it"
"Clean, comfortable accommodation in truly historic and idyllic setting."
"The Chapel room was dark and airless. I was overcharged by R300 per person. I don't mind paying R1500 for a room if it is worth it and there are good facilities, but when it is a miserable dingy place then I am not happy. No window and no extractor in the bathroom. Only 1 little window opens.so there is no air circulation. 2 fans helped give some relief. The ceiling fan has no switch. Bed linen looked old and grey. If I had paid R700 for the room then I would have accepted the room but definitely not worth R1500. No manager on duty."
"Friendly service! Clean and pleasant to stay. Thank you"
"The reception was warm and friendly. The accommodation comfortable, clean and quiet with secure parking. Breakfast sumptios and delicious."
"The room was quite cramped and the bed hard. The bathroom wasn't great with a very strange shower!"
"Must say, after travelling for hours from Cape Town it was pleasant to arrive to a friendly face & clean, spacious Cottage. And the breakfast was fantastic!Bed was a bit hard, but good otherwise.Thank you!"
"The host was very friendly. The place is comfortable and easy to locate."
"This was our second stay at Nanna Rous'. As enjoyable as before. Relaxed and unpretentious but 100% up to standard. Sitting in the courtyard after the long drive was so relaxing. Thanks to Rosie and Kenneth.<br/>Frik and Joan."
"As always a sparkling clean and comfortable room.<br/>A great breakfast the next morning before our departure.<br/><br/>Thanks to Kenneth and his team."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Nanna Rous Town House.<div><br /></div><div>The room was clean and nicely decorated. There was ample coffee and tea and they had the DSTV compact which I feel makes a huge difference when after a day of travelling you just want to chill and watch TV. The bathroom was kitted out with soap and hand cream.<div><br /></div><div>The breakfast was tasty and the service was excellent.</div><div><br /></div><div>There was adequate parking which was behind a secure gate which made us feel more comfortable.</div></div>"
"<p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">I had made numerous calls prior to our arrival to ensurethat all was in order for our late arrival however even though i again called10mins before arrival, we had to wait outside at 11pm for almost 20minsfor someone to open the gate.</span></p><p style="margin: 0cm 0cm 0pt;"><span style="font-family: calibri;">We were eventually greeted by a lady who was unsure aboutthe bookings. "Kenneth was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean. Bathroom had wonderful hot water. Breakfast was good and the cat was friendly. I would recommend them and make use of them myself in the future."
"A clean, sufficiently appointed B&B. Unfortunately, the breakfast was not up to standard and for this very reason, we will not stay here again. <br />"
"Everything was clean and comfortable. Just a pity there are no filter coffee.<br />"
"As we have come to expect we had a lovely stay at Nanna Rous'. Will definitely be going back there next time we stop over at Colesberg"
"We only spent one night on our way to our destination. The rooms were clean, comfortable and well-equipped. Lovely stay and great breakfast for a very reasonable price. Will definitely stay over again!"
"After having stayed at a number of places in Colesberg and never having being impressed, we stayed at Nanna Rous and have always gone back there as the accommodation is very comfortable and the breakfasts great and the people so friendly and helpful."
"Everything was so nice and clean and the breakfast was really tasty. The only thing I was deeply and utterly dissatisfied with was the useless little wall in the driveway. My wife drove up the driveway when I opened the gate for her and she saw the grass next to her and turned not seeing that stupid little wall and well now we have a lot damage on our vehicle."
"Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and allowed us to put our frozen food in their deep freeze. Just one little, personal complaint: the pillows were as hard as rocks."
"The staff was very friendly and we enjoyed the stay. Beds were clean, bathroom was clean. We stayed there for one night as a stay-over before driving to our destination."
"Love the place old charm."
"Clean, comfortable, decent TV and a nice breakfast. Cold outside, but toasty inside. Definitely a good spot to stop en route CT to Jhb."
"We were very happy with the friendly welcome, clean, comfortable accommodation and a good breakfast. This comes highly recommended! We'll definitely stay over again."
"We stopped over and stayed in the 'Manse' room; 184 years old, and absolutely beautiful. The owners were extremely friendly, helpful and had a wealth of knowledge of the history of the town and area. Breakfast was homely and delicious. Will definitely visit again."
"Very nice stopover from Johannesburg, and just what we needed after a long drive. Ken was very obliging, and told us where we could have dinner within walking distance. The breakfast was great. The room was comfortable and we slept very well. Will return if we are in that part of the world again."
"We found the accommodation at Nanna Rous to be clean and cosy. Ken was a warm and friendly host and Rosie a cheerful and welcoming personality at breakfast. Good price, good value, good people - we will be back."
"We enjoyed the stay in Nanna Rous. A warm welcome, good service and a lovely clean accommodation. The townhouse is situated in the centre of Colesberg and restaurants are in walking distance (Bordeaux's)."
"In general good value for money. What stood out was that the assistant/cook was quite accommodating at breakfast - offering to make some fruit salad upon request instead of the standard English breakfast."
"Had a wonderful night at Nanna Rous. Rosy was wonderful and the room were very comfortable, although a bit hot on the day we were there."
"This is a must stay between Gauteng & Cape Town. We received a warm and friendly welcome. The old house is beautifully restored and tastefully furnished, the hosts charming and the breakfast was great.Dec 2013"
"Fantastic breakfast. Nice clean accommodation for a stop over between Cape Town and Johannesburg."
"My family and I stayed the night at Nanna Rous' Town House whilst driving from Durban to Cape Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone wanting accommodation in Colesberg. We stayed in the Manse family room and were extremely comfortable. Kenneth Dell was a very friendly and welcoming host."
"We had a great stay at Nanna Rous. Rosy and Kennith was very friendly and welcoming, just what you want after a long drive. Our room was big, clean, warm and cosy in a very cold Colesberg! They were very accommodating with our dog too. We had a delicious meal at Bordeaux Restaurant in town. The next morning Kennith quickly helped us get someone to fix our punctured tyre whilst we had a delicious English breakfast that Rosy (a superstar) made. A special thanks to Rosy who did our booking, took my phone calls, emails, checked us in and made breakfast! You are wonderful! We will definitely recommend you to all our friends and make use of you in the future!"
"Although our stay was short, we had a very comfortable stay and friendly hosts! Would highly recommend it."
"As we arrived late it was basically in and out. The rooms were comfortable and our welcome friendly. Thanks for the hospitality."
"Enjoyed the stay, it is well kept and neat and safe. The host was very hospitable."
"Very comfortable, clean accommodation. Perfect stop over for travelling between Durban and Cape Town."
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will stay there again. Well done ladies!"
"Thank you for a very enjoyable stay and a delicious breakfast! Keep up the good standard."
"We were not sure what to expect from our overnight stop at Nanna Rous' and were pleasantly surprised by the comfortable en-suite room (the Cattle Post) and pleasant surroundings. Its location near the centre of town made it easy to explore the streets and historical buildings in the vicinity. Despite a full complement of guests, we had a quiet restful night."
"Only stayed 1 night as a stop over but was a very nice place, very homely and great breakfast! Thank you."
"We enjoyed a great stay after a long days travelling. A very friendly reception from Kenney, well appointed room and fresh, cricp linen. Centrally located and within easy walking distance from restaurants. Will highly recommend it."
"Thank you for a lovely and comfortable room! Had everything we needed for our stay-over. Rosy is friendly and very helpful."
"Very comfortable and clean with a quiet surrounding for a relaxing stopover. Also with electric blankets which was a plus. We were a family of five with a small baby - kids loved the bunk beds."
"We really appreciated the friendly nature of the staff and the delicious breakfast we were treated to in the morning. We stayed at the Cattle Post which we found to be cosy and very private. We only stayed over one night but would have loved to stay longer. I'd recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking for quality accomodation, privacy and secure parking for a reasonable price in Colesburg."
"We loved every minute we spent there, it was a one-night stay. It's lovely and clean. Keep up the standard. Merry Christmas. We will be back soon!"
"Very hospitable. Rooms immaculate. Would recommend to others."
"It was very beautiful and cosy. This was just a one-night stop for us, but we could stay there for a whole week. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The price was really affordable. We give it 10/10."
"The room was lovely, very convenient but I must add that the treatment received from the owners and staff of this facility exceeded even the nice room. We will never stay anywhere else from now on should we again travel in that direction. Thankyou Kenneth and Madi both of you are stars and not forgetting Rosy."
