  "A second stay says it was good to be back. Zelda and Cristel gave us a friendly welcome. We used the same room- refurbished during the year- and enjoyed the night spent in thge quaint town. Breakfast was hearty. I would have like a look into the history of the house with a good number of historical pieces. A good stay to be repeated."

  "We were very disappointed in Cradock House. The establishment bore no resemblance to the illustration or write up on the website. We understand from the present manager that the property has changed hands, but this happened three years ago and renovations are still incomplete! Also, the directions given to get to the property were so misleading that we had to telephone and the manageress came to fetch us from where we had arrived in Cradock.<br />The first room we were showed to had no windows and when I said this was not acceptable she did show us another, much larger room in the main house. The room was ready and it was clean but it was still incomplete e.g no bathroom mirror.<br />The breakfast was simple but quite adequate. We think that once the alterations are complete Cradock House will probably appeal more to guests wanting to braai in the evening and have a simple breakfast in the morning.<br />"

  "Stopping in Cradock, South Africa was recommended by a fellow traveler. We took a chance and found Cradock House B&B that is the best value for money. It is an older house that apparently caters to corporate bookings. We could hear that there were at least two other guests, but never saw them; only stayed one night. The en suite room was huge and furnished with an eclectic blend of older furniture. There was a huge refrigerator and electric kettle for coffee/tea. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and soap and shampoo were provided like a good hotel. There is even a small outside sitting area to enjoy the wine you bring after a long drive from Cape Town. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. The town is an old Victorian one and seems like you have taken a step back in time. Dinner at the Old Victorian Hotel, recommended by the Cradock House owner, was fantastic. If you are on your way to or from Cape Town, this is definitely a place to stop and have a look around. The only small thing is that the owner was friendly but very rushed as she showed us to the room and told us a few things as she gave us the keys. It seemed that we had interrupted her dinner and she needed to get back to her house. Luckily we had her cell phone number because we arrived at the back gate and there was no way to ring the establishment. It seemed that there use to be an intercom, but it was no longer there, just the wires. She had to drive from wherever she lives to let us in the gate and get us checked in. Also, Cradock House was very difficult to find because our Google maps kept giving us incorrect directions. We finally asked some very helpful townspeople but even they gave incorrect directions but it was closer than what we were getting from Google maps. Perhaps the owner could provide directions in her write up of her establishment."

  "We only slept one night without breakfast. Facilities were good and I can recommend the facilities and hospitality to anyone who would like to make use of it."
