  "This is absolutely worth the drive. Beautifully decorated house, wonderful garden and the best hosts one can imagine. And the cooking! We booked for two nights but decided to extend to four. Our kids felt immediately at home. Definitely one of the highlights of our four weeks traveling in South Africa."

  "What a beautiful oasis in the 'middle of nowhere'. So peaceful, tranquil and comfortable. Anne and Dave make you feel so at home that you won't want to leave. Even if you don't stay over, be sure to book for dinner - Anne's cooking and presentation is at a level with top restaurants. Lucky she over catered as everyone went back for 2nd and 3rd helpings. Kids are not only welcome but also loved and can ride around, swim, fish, feed the sheep, pick fruit in the orchard and chase the chickens. Anne's homemade pecan nut tart biscuits are so good I grabbed one-for-the-road and was asked, "why only one?". Wewill definitely be back and make this our regular 'stop over spot'."

  "My husband and I stayed with Anne and Dave on our way to the coast and we had a fantastic afternoon and morning with them! Our 4 year old daughter loved walking around the farm, visiting the 2 week old lambs and discovering where walnuts come from! Dave and Anne were so accommodating, helpful, and Anne's supper she cooked for us was utterly delicious! The house is beautifully done; homely, comfortable, stylish and just right for the Karoo. Highly recommend Lowlands!"

  "We went to Cradock for the annual food festival. The food festival was fantastic, but the dinner at Lowlands was even better. The bedroom is spacious and the beds are comfortable. Anne and Dave are very hospitable and make you feel right at home. I would take a detour on any trip just to stay here; what a relaxing and inviting place to stay."

  "What an absolute gem! We were received in true, warm hospitable style. The children were impressed with the little lamb being brought up by the owners after it was separated from its mom. Putting the chickens to bed was special for them. The vast gardens reminds one of a fairy land, waiting to be discovered. The cuisine was in true farm style, delicious and large portions. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Look no further for the perfect stay, we certainly will not."
