The Haven Hotel is a family oriented venue within the Cwebe and Dwesa Nature Reserves on the Transkei Wild Coast of South Africa.
We offer a way of life that lets you forget the rest of the world and relax in the most secluded and unspoiled surroundings. Established over 50 years ago, The Haven comprises 38 spacious en-suite chalets scattered within a tranquil environment.
Located at the mouth of the Mbashe River, The Haven has long been renowned as one of the prime fishing destinations in South Africa. Some of the other activities you can enjoy include horse riding, tennis, golf, hiking, birdwatching, canoeing, whale and dolphin watching, snorkelling and 4x4 dirt trails.

13 March 2021"Peace, calm, tranquility. What a wonderfull place. Beautifull walks through the forest. The Bashee river, wide and strong. A pristene beach where you can laze your days away. Real African charm at the hotel where one is spoilt beyond belief. If you want true rest the place to go."

06 January 2020"Once you have endured the rough Transkei road to The Haven Hotel, you are treated with a relaxing hotel. The owners will go the extra mile to accommodate their guest needs. I was on a road trip and needed fuel for my adventure bike to make the closest town, and they made a plan to get me 5L. Really impressed.Being on the coast the addition of a ceiling fan would be welcomed. Dinner and Breakfast was for champions and the kitchen boss knew her story serving up great meals!"

"Poor value for money!"
23 April 2014"Very basic accommodation and terrible food for the price we paid. Hotel staff ate in the dining room with guests and food stuff not available to paying guests was available to them! A very uninterested lady started the "Checkin", but then handed us over to Phumla who was the only STAR in the place! Horses also need their feet trimmed and properly fitting tack. Lovely area otherwise."
