Whalesong Lodge
Whalesong Lodge is a small and intimate guest house perched on top of the rugged De Kelders Cliffs, overlooking the picturesque Walker Bay. Whalesong Lodge is an ideal base to spend a number of days exploring the area. It is a paradise for whale watching, shark cage diving or just leisurely walks along the coast.
The five spacious bedrooms are stylish and offer sea views and small private balconies. The en-suite bathrooms have underfloor heating, separate baths and showers. The comfortable open-plan lounge and dining room leads out onto a wooden deck. There is a cosy fireplace and a good selection of South African red wines. The wooden deck leads to a small swimming pool and guests can also swim at the beach nearby.
A short drive will take you to a number of sandy beaches. De Kelders is in the Overberg region on the Cape southwest coast, only two hours from Cape Town. The quaint fishing village of Gansbaai is world renowned for its great white sharks. With Gansbaais fishing harbour only minutes away, there is an ample supply of fresh seafood.

24 August 2012"After spotting whales whilst having lunch in Hermanus, imagine our delight when we pulled up at Whalesong Lodge to find those same whales just metres away from where we were staying! Whalesong Lodge is an outstanding guest house in every respect, from its superb location up on the cliffs, to its chic decor to its fabulous hosts who were readily available to discuss our plans and advise on the best routes to take and the best places to visit. Although we were not honeymooners, we had opted for the honeymoon suite to help us celebrate 14 years of marriage and it was breath-taking, with full length windows looking out to the bay we could lie in bed and whale watch to our hearts content. We thoroughly loved our time at Whalesong Lodge and wouldn't hesitate to book here again the next time we are in De Kelders/Gansbaai."
