Vaal Steams is a small, private family-owned and run resort located in a beautiful nature setting on the Vaal River, just a few kilometres below the Vaal Dam. The resort is ideally situated between Deneysville and Vereeniging, and only an hours drive from Johannesburg.
Vaal Streams offers a range of flexible and competitively priced accommodation options in tranquil surroundings with the sounds of the Vaal River gently flowing around islands and over rocks. The north-facing property is situated on 5-hectares with 100 m of exclusive private river frontage. The main buildings are built high on a slope providing beautiful views of the hills and meandering river in the valley below.
Vaalstreams has some of the best fly fishing downstream of the Vaal dam and the river rafting trips on the Vaal River are hugely popular with our guests of all ages. There are plenty of other activities to keep you busy including laser target shooting, paintball and archery.
"Extremely frustrating/cumbersome application/booking system but somehow worth the stay. Decent sleeping facilities but the pool was extremely filthy and we didn't swin as a result. Isaac turned out to be very helpful and welcoming."
"Our stay at this resort was memorable and absolutely fantastic. The ox wagons is an experience of a lifetime. We will go back. Every one should try it."
"When we got there we felt unwanted .the manager was very rude,he treated us intrudes. We stood more than an hour @ the gate for him to open for us ,the process to enter to vaal stream is very lengthy and difficult and the manager there does not know how treat customers, he kept on complaining about the light, water, wood, but we paid for all that.he made our guest very uncomfortable. That place is nice but I will not go back even if you pay me.we had no option but to make it work because we already Paid"
"Had an extremely awesome stay; the place was really clean , rooms were spacious, staff was more than welcoming and went out of their way to ensure we were all comfortable. The views around the area are really stunning, all the animals are friendly and there is more than enough to do. Will definitely be back."
"We did not get to spend as much time there but our stay nonetheless was pleasant and enjoyable. Was very impressed with the Accomodation and facilities.our 2 days were spent in a beautiful chalet. Everything was of the highest quality and well worth every cent.<div>My only query is the long unpleasant gravel road to the destination but would definitely comeback again .</div>"
"The Ox-Wagon was very uncomfortable to sleep in. Not the ideal accommodation at all, especially for the amount of money that I paid. Nothing shelters you from the wind or rain unless you're in the wagon which has absolutely no space inside it. To add insult to injury, I had a piece of jewellery stolen from me and only realised it when I reached home. Everything was stored in the bathroom which we had to lock."
