Greenfinch Lodge is a self-catering bush lodge located in Hammanskraal, Greater Pretoria. Escape from the city to Dinokeng for peace and tranquility in this exclusive self-catering lodge. Recharge your batteries by relaxing in the country atmosphere and taking in the wildlife of the area. Dinokeng is home to a range of game including the big 5 and is also a birdwatcher's paradise.

The lodge has two main bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, as well as four downstairs bedrooms with two single beds in each as well as en suite bathrooms, sleeping a total of 12 people. Greenfinch Lodge is fully-equipped and you only need bring your own food and drinks.

NB: Please note as this is a nature reserve no loud music or fireworks will be tolerated

Check in is no later than 18:00 on the day of check in

Please park in the designated parking area no parking allowed on the lawn

No smoking in the rooms

Game drives can be booked on site at R200 per person.

The DGR Wilderness Way Self-Drive was launched on 16 December 2014..
Bookings for this public self drive route can be made at our Information Office, or at the entrance gates to the DGR.

"The lodge is beautiful, clean, neat and extremely comfortable. The gardens are absolutely beautiful with big trees and abundant birdlife. From the patio area you can watch animals that come to a small dam - we had lots of visits by zebra and wildebeest."

"Our family spent a long weekend in November 2018 at Greenfinch Lodge and our expectations were exceeded. Every single aspect of the weekend and our stay was perfect. From our arrival where the staff assisted to off load the vehicles through towards the end of our weekend. The lodge is very well equipped and you literally only need to take food, drinks and clothes - everything else is there! The accommodation is very neat and clean - it is perfect for a big group (we were 12 adults) as every room have its own en-suite bathroom. The splash pool cooled us off in the hot summer weather and the ice maker ensured that our drinks were ice cold. We spent most of the weekend on the deck and had wildlife visiting to drink water at the waterhole right in front of the lodge. We could also watch the exciting Springboks game on the big screen TV (with DSTV) - which was really nice especially for the family members visiting from the USA. The staff was terrific and very helpful, they washed the dishes (twice a day) and cleaned the lodge every day. I highly recommend Greenfinch Lodge and will most definitely visit them again (and again and again)."

"What a lovely spot! Huge house, big garden, private and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Take note that the downstairs bedrooms are NOT interleading and dont lead into the house from the inside, therefore if you have small children take your monitor with as the only way they can get your attention at night is to walk outside to get to you. Also make sure you book a game drive with Mike, we saw 5 rhino with him! Fully equipped kitchen, everything neat and clean."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Greenfinch! We were a group of 10 friends and we were very comfortable throughout. Everything is provided for and we especially enjoyed the big patio and deck with the braai close by. Its important to follow the directions properly and not just follow the GPS as it might take you on wrong tracks in the park. A great venue for a weekend breakaway."

"I usually feel like i could take my whole kitchen n bathroom with whenever i go to a self catering lodged. Im this beautiful home, i did not need to. Everthing that makes a stay comfortable was there. Full kitchen with all cleaning things u can think of, there was foil, cling wrap , enough ice in the freezer for the entire long weekend, extra fridge outside, fully equiped braai area..luxurious bathrooms, books to read, full dstv, wifi, to mension a few......A home away from home......will come again"

"From the photos of the lodge I figured this would be a great place to stay however my expectations were greatly exceeded by the attention to detail and level of luxury provided by Greenfinch Lodge. Absolutely everything we could ever need was provided, the staff were friendly and always eager to help. Overall a fantastic experience, hopefully we can return soon!"

"This is a lovely place to stay - quiet, isolated with a wonderful garden. The house is large with two inside en-suite rooms with amazing bathrooms on the top level. Four more en-suite rooms have outside doors (they are not technically in the house). A small splash pool and braai is on the stoep.<div><br /></div><div>Only negative is that the braai share a chimney with the inside fireplace and sometimes the smoke from the braai entered the house which is unpleasant. </div>"
