Our flat caters for family-type accommodation and people looking for a pleasing, comfortable and safe environment with a sandy beach at your footstep and a nice ocean view from the windows. Shangri-La offers all of that!This luxury apartment has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious lounge and a fully equipped kitchen. It is right on the beach and faces the sea, providing spectacular ocean views. There is a queen-size bed in the main bedroom, two single beds put separately in the second bedroom, a double sleeper couch and a lounge suite in the lounge. The apartment has recently been beautifully renovated with new bathrooms, new tiles, a new granite kitchen, a corner bath and a hand shower in the main bathroom, and a shower cabinet in the second bathroom. There is a 40-inch High Definition TV, a Blu-ray DVD player, and a DStv satellite decoder. The open-plan kitchen is equipped with a microwave oven, a fridge, a stove, cutlery, crockery, a kettle, a toaster, and stylish bar stools. It is situated on the sixth floor of Shangri-La complex, right on the beach in Doonside and two kilometres from the central Amanzimtoti. In the complex we have an entertainment area, including a spacious Lapa housing 16 braais under one roof, a number of individual braais, a large swimming pool, a jungle gym, a smaller kiddies pool, a convenience store, a laundromat and secure under-cover parking in the basement.Check-in time - 14:00 on the date of arrival, Please note that we will not be able to check in the guests who arrive at the complex later than 22:00, please plan your trip accordingly. Check-out time - 10:00 on the date of departure. Bed linen is provided, but towels and toiletries are not provided, please bring your own. Guests must respect House Rules, no noise and disturbances are allowed after 10 pm.

"New tiles and cabinets does not give a luxury stay. The mattresses are extremely old and uncomfortable. I flipped the queen mattress in order to find a better part to sleep on and was shocked by the bad state of what I had to sleep on for 3 nights. The highway noise is constant. The apartment does not have is dishwasher and there are no cleaning materials provided. For a 3 night stay you have to bring everything including toilet disinfectant. There is a sea view, but you have to stand to appreciate it. The dining chairs and couch gives a pleasant appearance but are so worn that you do not want to sit on it because of the frames drilling into your body. Our DSTV Smart Card could not be activated because the decoder is outdated. We stayed 3 nights on a self-catering basis in this 2 bedroom unit. It was a last minute booking and very difficult to make a reservation. It is advertised on many travel sites and the prices vary a lot for the same unit. It was most expensive through Tripadvisor about 40% more, only quoted in U$. I complained to the owner. We accepted the quote from SafariNow.com and paid the deposit. After paying the deposit more costs were added on top of the original quote. They also create confusion because the price is quoted per apartment and then they give the price for a 6 bed unit for 2 persons. I mailed complaints to both the owner and SafariNow.com and was told that if I do not pay their inflated amount, the keys would not be given to me on arrival. We paid prior to our departure and emailed proof of payment to the owner as they demanded. I had to spent hours while driving to Shangri-La 606 to convince them that the payment was done. These are the kind of operators that give internet bookings a bad reputation. "

"This holiday flat is like a small piece of paradise while on holiday. The flat is stylishly furnished, quite large, and exceptional value for money. We paid R600.00 per night, and the flat sleeps 6 people (Which equates to R100.00 p/p per night). The location and amenities are fantastic, and the beach is private and quiet, and right on the doorstep. In addition, the Galleria mall, numerous gyms and a hospital are all within 5km of Shangri La. Rita, the caretaker, was incredibly helpful and a pleasure to deal with. In conclusion, I would recommend this venue to any aspiring family or group of friends that want to feel at home on holiday with all the benefits of expensive holiday accomodation at an affordable price. I look forward to going on holiday again next year, and we will definitely use Shangri La 606 again. We are not even going to shop around for anything else. Thank you for making our holiday heavenly!"

"Booking Shangri-La was easy and response to our enquiry was received almost by return email. On arrival we found an apartment that is very much up to date with a great kitchen, and well maintained. The complex is very well situated near the beach and we had a great view from the apartment. In short, a return visit/stay is very much on the cards."
